Great game today for our u9s even though we had a few players missing due to bank holiday and they didn't disappoint coming out winners in our fixture today.

Its hard to tell this team has only been together a year the work rate and passing was excellent today, well done lads.

Today’s friendly was a special one as it reunited players from our previous club, with Sheffield All Stars Greens taking on Middlewood Rovers Blacks. Our u10s played only there 2nd friendly under the new management team keeping there unbeaten run going

It was a challenging first half, with Middlewood putting us under plenty of pressure and creating several opportunities. But the All Stars defence stood strong, working hard to shut down the attacks and keep us in the game.

After a half-time pep talk from Coach Karl, the Greens came back out with a different level of confidence and determination. 💪 There was no fear in the challenges, the players started communicating and working better as a team, and we began moving the ball down the pitch with real purpose.

The hard work paid off, with a victory for Sheffield All Stars Greens! ⚽⚽

A fantastic performance across the whole team today. Every player played their part, battled for one another and showed exactly what we want to see as this team develops.

Allstars U11 Blue vs Pinfold Pumas Blue

A tactical bodge job.

We started the game really well and dominated the first half. Unfortunately, we couldn’t capitalise on our chances, which resulted in the half finishing in a stalemate.With no substitutes available, we knew we had to mix things up a bit to keep the lads fresh.

We made some tactical changes at half-time, but it became apparent within the first five minutes that we had got the team balance wrong.

Over the next ten minutes, we made more changes than Sheffield United have had in play-off final defeats! Unfortunately, during this chaotic spell, the opposition took the initiative and went in front.

Once we finally got the positions right, we started to dominate again. Soon after, Max S⚽ bagged a lovely goal to bring the scoreline level. We were in our flow now, and it looked like we might nick the win.

However, Pinfold then scored an absolute screamer against the run of play to put us behind once more.The lads really stepped up the pressure and came close on several occasions.

In the final minute of the game, we had two corners and a free kick on the edge of the box; they all went close, but no cigar.

The lads were great today. It was the two pillocks on the sideline who got it wrong (mainly Luke👀).

On to the honours...

Captain: Today's captaincy 🚢went to Max S, who ran the midfield exactly like a captain should.

Man of the Match (MOM): Max C rightfully took home the trophy 🏆for his relentless running and for playing in pretty much every single position on the park (apart from goal).

Parents' Man of the Match (PMOM)🏆: Noah earned the award for his excellent positional play. He was almost rewarded with a goal, too, after his free kick went agonisingly close in the dying seconds of the game.

Sheffield Allstars u15’s v Sheffield allstar u14’s

was always going to be a good game considering all the lads know each other from training side by side during the week. But the game was played in good spirits and a fair intensity considering it was a friendly.
The game started with the 15’s attacking and the 14’s being very resolute at the back. With Harry making some good saves in their goal. The 15’s hit the post through a good counter attack with Sonny and then Sajjad hit the bar and post with a shot after good work down the left. It looked like we were going to score but then the 14’s won a penalty with some good footwork from Daniel after the 15’s didn’t clear their lines. I felt it was a soft penalty but the ref assured me it was just slightly mistimed and from behind. 14’s had another chance when Tom was through on goal but was judged to have handballed it after the ball bounced up off his hand and sent him through 1v1.
In the second half we told the 15’s to use the width more and commit their defenders and they did just that. New signing Sonny and Alfie really impressing down both sides. The 15’s scored an equalizer through Jack burgz who sprinted into the corner to stop the ball going out, and fizzed a great ball across goal with was turn into his own net by Harry in the 14’s goal. After that it became more attack be defence with Allstars creating a lot of good opportunities with Sajjad dictating the game. The 14’s always looked dangerous tho on the counter attack and Harry more than made up for the goal with a string of saves.
The 15’s went ahead through good work from George and with shouts of a penalty turned down our lads kept possession and recycled it to Jack Simpson who fired in from the edge of the box. Towards the end of the game we put max up top to use his pace against the tired defenders and despite him being put through a hand full of times it looked like we wasn’t going to get on the score sheet until the last 5 minutes when he finally found a finish to kill the game off at 3-1.

The mens team played the British oak in a friendly last night which was a good chance to challenge ourselves against a team in a similar position to us and that will be in our league next season.
I think we started well and were probably the better side for the 1st 10-15 minutes before it became a more even game and despite us creating some good chances we couldn't convert them. Unfortunately they scored their 1st real chance of the game and although we continued to play well they scored their 2nd. A lovely strike but from our point of view it was avoidable.
At half time we had chat and started the 2nd half well. We created 2 really good chances and really should have had a goal back. We then should've had a penalty and at this point I had the feeling it wasn't going to be our night. The game became more open and stretched with both teams creating chances but unfortunately they were the ones who scored making it 3. We overplayed it at the back and they capitalised. We hit the cross bar following a lovely run which deserved a goal really but it wasn't to be and they got a fourth.
On the whole a good run out with the score line not reflecting the game. We had 21 players getting much needed minutes in their legs although the size of the squad probably didn't help us with the amount of changes we made but we go on to the next on.
Still things to work non both on and off the field but we'll get there.
