Access Fest para bouldering competition returns to Depot Sheffield this October!
Access Fest is an accessible climbing festival, aiming to promote the accessibility of indoor climbing, with the inclusion of specific paraclimbing categories.
Participants have the opportunity to enter into a competitive category that allows fair competition for those with pan-disability impairments to climb suitable boulders; bringing the climbing community together.
The event includes a qualifying round in scramble format over a 4 hour period to allow all competitors ample time to attempt 10 boulders in their category.
This is followed by a judged Grand Final, with 3 boulders for each finalist to complete in their respective category.
After feedback from last years event, the categories are now split by bouldering grades:
Para A: V5-V7
Para B: V3-V5
Para C: V0-V2
Frequently asked questions:
Q: My impairment doesn’t fit one of the classifications, what category do I compete in?
A: You can compete in the category that best fits your ability. If you are unsure, staff can assist you in selecting the most appropriate category.
Q: Are the para categories gender split?
A: No, categories are based on ability, to keep categories fair and competitive.
Q: How much is the competition?
A: £15 per competitor. This includes entry if you don’t already have a pass or arranged entry (and shoe hire if required) with us and includes an exclusive event tote bag.
The event takes place from 10am on Saturday the 3rd of October, 2026 at Depot Sheffield.
