The 2027 LTA AWARDS, presented by Lexus, open for nominations on Tuesday 2nd June. They will shine a spotlight on the outstanding achievements and contributions of individuals and organisations across Great Britain. From clubs and venues to coaches and officials to parks and players, the awards celebrate excellence in tennis and padel, recognising those who are making a real difference to our sports and in their communities.

Full details of the award categories and the nomination form will be online from tomorrow, and nominations remain open until November. So, please do take the time to nominate those who are making a difference at your club or organisation. Three of Yorkshire’s nominees – The NIC Yorkshire VI Tennis Doubles League, Withernsea’s Janine Foster and Courtside Hub, Hillborough – were shortlisted for this year’s national awards, presented at the LTA National Tennis Centre in Roehampton and we’ll be hoping to see more success in 2027.

VI TENNIS COMMUNITY HEADS TO YORK FOR MATCHDAY #2
The award-winning NIC Yorkshire VI Doubles League, bringing together visually impaired tennis players from across the county to play in a competitive and supportive environment, gets its second matchday of the season underway tomorrow (30/5) at York St John University. South Yorkshire topped the leaderboard at the end of matchday #1, played at Nuffield Tennis Academy in Hull, but with three more sessions to go, there's all to play for.

League organiser David Wallace said: "We’re excited for the second instalment of the NIC Yorkshire VI Doubles League as the Yorkshire VI tennis community comes together once again this weekend. Four Yorkshire regions, three playing categories and four fixtures in a round robin format. And with everything still to play for, the competition is heating up! This promises to continue to showcase inclusive grassroot community tennis across Yorkshire."
