Our boys travelled to Westfield this morning for a friendly. We had a few new lads and they were all eager to show what they can do.

We started off strong with solid possession and built momentum in the first half. Corey got us the first goal with a low shot into the far corner. We continued the pressure and Lewis Knowles was determined to score with a shot just outside the box that the keeper couldn't reach.

As the half was near the end, we were on the receiving end of a few unfortunate calls. Both were called for penalties and the home team executed on both of them. The score was 2-2 at halftime.

We reinforced a few points on what they needed to do and the boys marched back out for the second half. Archie got the ball and made a great turn and blast the ball into the net. It was 3-2 for us now. But we know we can't let up. We kept playing to generate opportunities and earned a free kick just outside the box. Leo stepped up smashed one just out of the keepers reach to bring the score to 4-2. Our game got a bit messy at the end and the home team got closer with a goal to bring the score to 4-3. But our boys held out at the end and that remained the final score.

Shoutout to the new lads who performed well today. Henry was settling well and showed his speed and athleticism. Macauley was a threat with the ball at his feet, giving the defenders trouble with his dribbling. Last but not least, Archie was trying to settle into a few positions and found his calling in midfield. He was making defenders dizzy with his smooth turns and calm play. He has a strong foot and connected well his with teammates to generate chances and finished one of his own chances. For his display today, he is our man of the match. Congratulations Archie!

Our boys travelled to Wombwell today for our final game of the season. This game almost didn't happen, between finding a pitch, finding a referee and player availability, the odds were stacked against us. But in the end, the stars did somewhat align and a huge thank you to Wombwell Town for hosting us and sorting out the referee situation.

Onto the match! Our boys needed to be sharp and Alex was called into action on a few occasions to make some key saves. As we got into a rhythm, we started to create chances and really unlucky not to create more. The boys got a few unlucky bounces and at the end of the first half, we were down 2-0. Very undeserving scoreline but the game was far from over.

Corey got us on the scoreboard with a long ball from Riley into the opposition's end. He got past the defenders and tapped it in. It was a battle from there and Wombwell snuck another one pas us. Still lots of time left though and we were generating chances. Corey had another chance with a quick turn and shot the ball past the keeper. It was now 3-2 and we kept pressing. We had some chances and really unlucky to equalise on a few opportunities.

When the final whistle blew, the game ended 3-2, but with all of the thrilling action and effort, it really didn't feel like a loss.

we gave one of the league leaders an extremely competitive match.
Amazing performances by everyone today, whether key saves from Alex, great composure from Lewis Gill, each and every single boy today left it all out there on the pitch. As such, our men of the match goes to all of the boys.
