From a windball in Abbeyfield Park to Yorkshire CCC's 2nd XI. This is Rizwan Ishfaq's story, in his own words: the winter nets, the injuries, the family who never stopped backing him. He came through Cricket Arena's leagues and still gives his time to our programmes every week.

A summer camp to remember. 🏏
Over the past five weeks, 22 girls finished their madrasah classes and walked straight into the sports hall — playing games, building fitness and learning new cricket skills every week.
A big thank you to our girls' head ECB coach Henna Ali , who made every session structured, welcoming and fun. And to the brilliant team at .sheffield, whose hard work gave every girl the chance to be a Dynamo.

Over 60 children aged 5–8 took part in our All Stars Cricket sessions every week this summer, across three groups! 🤩
All Stars is the perfect first introduction to cricket for young children — a mix of fun games, physical activity and their very first taste of the sport.
Huge thanks to the ECB, Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and Leisure United Woodbourn Road for helping us make these sessions accessible and completely FREE for every family.
And a big thank you to our amazing coaches for planning and making each session unforgettable!

Our Youth Sports Club has been down at Padel Bonito this summer for coached padel sessions, running two groups across the block — under-17s and under-25s.
Most of the lads had never picked up a padel racket before. A few weeks in they're serving properly, reading the glass and playing games that actually go somewhere. Big thanks to the coaches at padel bonito for looking after them.
More sessions coming. If you know a young person who'd want in, drop us a message.

We took the U13s to the driving range at Rother Valley Golf Centre this week for a day out in the school holidays. For most of the group it was the first time they had ever held a golf club, so they were taught the grip, the stance and the swing, then given a bay and let loose.
One parent told us it was their son's first time playing golf and he is already asking to go back, this time with the whole family. Another said their boy loved trying something new and came home happy he had made new friends. A third thanked the volunteers for giving up their own time in the middle of a demanding school holiday.
