A great start to the Sunday Friendly series!

Last night we held our Junior Presentation Evening for the 2026 season. We welcomed over 200 to the clubhouse in Bradfield for a great night of food, drink and celebration. As well as the players efforts, we also thank all the parents, coaches, volunteers and our sponsors, The Schoolrooms, The Bradfield Plough and AssetGo who help make the magic happen!

The Friendly XI are hosting Centralians on Sunday. The clubhouse will be open and serving a wide range of refreshments so it would be great to see you there. Many thanks to for sponsoring the match ball.

This week we had a game with a difference at Bradfield. Bradfield U15s played the Bradfield led BOTS U15 girls team. In effect U15 boys v U15 Girls there not many team sports where this can happen.
So a nice end of season game.

The U15s won it by five wickets.
From the BOTS innings highlights were: The BOTS scored 116 for 4 wickets, off 20 overs. With the bat some scores were: Freyas 24, Sophies 21 and Josies unbeaten 20. With the ball: wickets were taken by Seth2, Tom and Jacob T. Harry took a catch.

From the U15 innings highlights were: U15s responded 117 for 5 wickets. With the Bat some scores went to Arun 30, Jacob H 21, Noah 20 and Max 17 Wickets went to Josie 2, Betty. In the field a direct hit run out for Josie and a catch behind for Sophie.

Bank Holiday Monday saw a second combine U11/U13 friendly for Bradfield, this time vs Thorncliffe and Wentworth.

What a game!!

Bradfield won the toss and chose to bat. After a couple of early wickets our batters got into a little bit of a groove, only to then lose a few more wickets quickly. It took our middle order to steady the ship and create a steady partnership. Thorncliffe and Wentworth’s bowling was generally very good so the scoring wasn’t particularly high but we managed to not lose all our wickets and bat out our 20 overs.

Thorncliffe and Wentworth’s innings was reasonably similar to Bradfield’s. Not as many wickets fell, and one of their batters managed to retire after getting 25 runs but some excellent bowling from Bradfield’s bowlers kept the game tense. With the final over up, Thorncliffe and Wentworth needed 10 off 6 balls. With some brilliant setting of the field, accurate death bowling and a crucial wicket in that over, Bradfield won by 1 run!!

Needless to say, all the supporters were on tenterhooks, just as much as the players!!

Well done to both teams, a great game played in the right spirit with some excellent teamwork combined with individual performances.
