Brayton Belles 1–1 Kirkstall Crusaders

The Under 16s made the trip to Kirkstall for their first away game of the season, taking on a heavy pitch and tough opposition.

The girls started brightly and created plenty of chances from the off. Their pressure eventually paid off midway through the first half, with Violet Durnin calmly tucking the ball away to give Brayton the lead.

Brayton continued to create opportunities and had chances to extend their advantage, but unfortunately couldn’t find that second goal.

With just minutes remaining, Kirkstall broke forward and found an equaliser against the run of play.

The game finished 1–1, but the result keeps the Under 16s’ unbeaten start to the season going.

A really positive performance from the girls, who can take plenty of positives into next week.

U11’s Match Report ⚽️

The girls welcomed Rothwell Juniors Blacks to the college this morning.

Belles were looking to continue their strong start to the season and it wasn’t long till Harper struck a fabulous shot into the bottom corner to get the girls going.

Evie made some good saves to keep us ahead and Sienna, Esme and Molly were all strong at that back.

The 2nd goal was made by Heidi’s determination in midfield to win the ball back and send Fearne away clear to get the Belles further ahead. Fearne quickly completed her hatrick with some wonderful finishes.

In the 2nd half Heidi got on the score sheet with a lovely solo effort and Georgia scored an amazing goal from 20 yards out.

Flo and Ruby were excellent in midfield winning the ball whilst driving us up field.

Fearne added a couple more in the 4th Qtr after Rothwell had pulled one back.

Overall a fantastic performance with

⚽️ Brayton Belles U9s vs Thackley Firestorm U9s ⚽️

The girls were back with a bang in their first league game of the new season. Despite the rain they were determined to make a strong start and came flying out from the first whistle.

The Belles created plenty of chances early on and were rewarded with two quick goals. They continued to work incredibly hard, winning the ball back at every opportunity, pressing from the front and putting Thackley under plenty of pressure.

As the game went on, the football really started to flow. There were some brilliant one-twos and some excellent crosses into the box which resulted in more goals. Thackley continued to make the girls work hard and kept competing throughout.

The girls concentration dropped slightly for a spell allowing Thackley to pull a goal back but the girls responded really well, regained control and continued to work hard right through to the final whistle.

Final Thoughts - A really strong and determined performance from all the girls today. There was some fantastic football and more importantly a huge amount of hard work and effort from everyone. A great way to start the new season.

⚽️ MATCH DAY (Under 12s) | LS27 4-3 BRAYTON BELLES ⚽️

Our second game of the season was a real end-to-end battle, with both teams creating plenty of chances.

We started brilliantly, with Amelia opening the scoring after a lovely lay-off from Aspen, before Amelia struck from outside the box with her left foot, lifting it over the keeper!

LS27 responded, but the Belles kept pushing. Amelia then picked the ball up down the line, cut inside and fired into the bottom corner to put us back in front.

LS27 found another before half-time, leaving us level at the break.

We knew we had to come out quickly and we did! Poppy played a fantastic pass through to Amelia, who calmly finished to complete her hat-trick!

Unfortunately, LS27 fought back late, scoring twice in the final 10 minutes to take the win 4-3.

A tough one to take after such a fantastic effort from the girls, but there were many positives to take from today. We keep our heads up, take the lessons and go again next week.

A brilliant first game for Betsy and Poppy 👏🏻

Saturday saw the girls kick off their 26/27 campaign against a strong Hunslet team.

Having faced them last season on 3 occasions we knew it would be a tough and challenging start.

Although the girls had been very excited to get on the pitch the first half was very much blowing off the cob webs after a long summer. There were moments of fantastic attacking and defensive work, but unfortunately we found ourselves down by 3 by the end of the half.

The second half the girls game out much stronger, showing much more the team they finished last season.

Communication was much better, and much more pressing play creating more chances. The girls managed to claw another goal back and keep a clean sheet in the second half.

The result isn’t what the girls wanted for the start of the season, but they played hard, gave great commitment and there’s plenty of positives to take away for the season moving forward.

🏆POTM🏆- Maya, from the first whistle she showed great attitude and her work rate as always was incredible.

⚽️ BRAYTON BELLES 0–0 STANNINGLEY ⚽️
What a great start to the season! 💙

The girls earned a hard-earned point in a 0–0 draw against one of the better sides in the league and what a performance it was!

We came under some early pressure, but Isabel stood strong between the sticks, pulling off a couple of fantastic saves to keep us in the game🧤

Brayton then settled into the match and started to take control. Libby led the charge going forward, taking on the full-back, getting the better of her and causing Stanningley plenty of problems. Some magical through balls from Talia created opportunities and really showed just how good we can be going forward.

Defensively, we were absolutely solid. Raea was in complete control at the back, well supported by Amily, Flo, Nelle and Ellie💪

In midfield, both Islas put in an unbelievable shift, with endless running and determination all game.

We were unlucky not to sn**ch all three points late on, with Amily pushing further forward and Lexi coming so close to finding the winner.

🏆 Coaches’ Player of the Match: Raea, thoroughly deserved after a fantastic defensive performance.

⭐ Opposition Vote: Ruby-Mae, another fantastic performance from her!

Overall, a brilliant all-round team performance. The girls showed determination, resilience and some fantastic football against a very strong Stanningley side.

Exactly how we wanted to start the season! 💙
