Happy Monday everyone,
I hope that you are all well and coping in this heatwave.
If it’s too hot to run, or you are carrying an injury or just be apart of the volunteer team there are plenty of roles up for grabs for this Saturday:
First Timer briefing - you can still run
Carpark marshal x3 - you can still run
On course marshal x2
Time keeper x2
Barcode scanners x3
Finish token support
Parkwalker x2
Please message me below if you are able to help. I don’t want to have to do a Wednesday evening chase up.. Come on England…
Thank you. Tracy.

Selby parkrun 371 the one with Selby Striders C25K graduation. What super group, some very emotional people as they crossed the line. Well done to everyone of you.
275 people completed our out and back course. 15 who completed their first parkrun.
A great bunch of volunteers this morning, the event can’t go ahead without people who give up their run.
Milestones.
Niki Hampstead, a Selby regular and key volunteer, completed her 100th parkrun. And to help her celebrate Niki’s Daughter and family have travelled……….wait for it……. from New South Wales Australia.
Jim Smith's daughter wrote in to inform us of his 100th.
Marina 50th parkrun at age 9.
Tommy age 6 gets his no 10 T shirt.
Dave John who’s at the other end of the scale and completing his 825th. Parkwalking. Leeds was his first parkrun location when there were only 4 parkruns in the world.
Tracy is at the helm next week, so please let’s fill the volunteer roster for her early.
All the best, and of course.
Come on England, it’s coming home.
Pete.

Red and white sports wear this week please, because.....
This weeks parkrun is a big day for our local running clubs Couch to 5K Group. We've been honoured in previous years with groups of C25K who have graduated at Selby, pictures below.
Selby Striders have requested all their members wear the Striders red and white kit, so it would be great if everyone else could wear red and white to support the C25K Group. I also understand that there's a football game that evening and our local team colours are red and white, so it would be good to show support for them.
I'd like to thank all the volunteers who have stepped up so far we just need a final few places to fill.
Time keeper (late change)
Car park marshal
Looking forward to the event
Pete.

Good afternoon Selby parkrun followers
This Saturday will be event 370.
Thank you to all the fantastic volunteers and I am pleased to say this weekend's roster is full although we will never turn away volunteers if there are people who would like to get involved.
We have NO Wrens and NO Awesome Coffee this week so we have no on site refreshments. Please ensure you bring your own drink(s) to stay hydrated (including any dog you may bring).
Remember we have Roos Tea Room only 60 seconds away from our enterance/exit. They do offer parkrunners a discount. Take a look https://www.facebook.com/Roostearoom for what they offer.
Pontefract parkrun is cancelled this weekend so we may have additional visitors.
Regardless of this, please arrive at parkrun in good time to enable enough time to park and walk to the start for the 09:00 start.
Any shout outs, milestones, tourists then please do let me know, ideally today.
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please be respectful to the local area & the residents at all times.
Without the support of ALL the local residents & businesses then parkrun can’t happen.
Be considerate to how you drive, where you park and your speed.
Please use the common lane entrance and our on site car park facilities NOT the gliding club entrance nor common lane for parking. There is NO entrance via the gliding club.
People should already be car sharing where possible.
Visiting Selby, take a look at https://www.parkrun.org.uk/selby/course/ and the ‘Getting There’ section and then follow guidance of our car park marshalls on site.
parkrun operates a global NO BARCODE NO TIME rule (so please DFYB, don’t forget your barcode).
