NE Bulls WRC are one of two wheelchair rugby clubs based in the north east of England and we welcome anyone with a physical disabillity or impairment to our club. Wheelchair Rugby is a wheelchair based sport for people with a physical disabilty or impairment. It is a growing sport which is developing every year as more and more people become asociated with it. The North East Bulls WRC were founded in 2002 by a group of people with spinal injuries, the club was orginally the Newcastle Bulls but later adopted the North-East Bulls as players were joining from further affield. The club briefly joined forces with a local Rugby Union club and became the Darlington Mowden Park Bulls, but have now returned to being known as the North East Bulls WRC after the decision was made to become a charitable association. The club is now looking to grow and expand its membership base, so get in touch if you wish to join us. The rules of Wheelchair Rugby can be confusing, it is a mix of many sports which creates a brutal game where full contact between chairs is permitted, but physical contact between players is not. Some hits can be devastating, with players flipping out of their chairs and landing face first on the court.
