🎵 How can music help connection and reminiscence for people living with dementia and their carers?

Music can be much more than something we listen to. A familiar tune can bring back memories, create opportunities for conversation, support connection and provide moments of joy and togetherness.

For carers, there are lots of simple ways to introduce music into everyday life. We’ve created an infographic with some of our top tips for carers, which you can save and share.

We also recently held a live session exploring Music & Memory, with special guests Grace Meadows from Our Dementia Choir with Vicky McClure and Kate Darby from Dementia Disco They shared insights, experiences and practical ideas about using music to support connection and reminiscence.

🎥 You can watch the recording of the session here:

If you know a carer who might find these ideas useful, please feel free to share this post with them. 💚

🍂☕ Something a little bit special is coming to Messingham! ☕🍂

Our next Community Brew is on Thursday 1st October, 10.30am–12.30pm at Messingham Village Hall — and this one is going to be a little more special than usual! ❤️

We’ve been working with some fantastic local organisations to bring you our Community Brew Autumn Wellbeing Event.

There’ll be lots of friendly faces on hand to share information, offer support and signpost you to local services, including Lindsey Lodge Hospice & Healthcare Citizens Advice, Healthwatch North Lincolnshire and many more.

And of course… it wouldn’t be a Goodwin Community Brew without our usual mix of:

☕ A cuppa
🍰 Cake
😂 Plenty of laughter
💬 Good conversations
❤️ New connections
😊 And hopefully lots of happy faces!

You can come on your own, bring a friend, gather your family or come along as a group — everyone is welcome.

Come and have a cuppa, meet some lovely people, find out what support is available locally and maybe discover something you didn’t even know was there for you.

📅 Thursday 1st October
⏰ 10.30am–12.30pm
📍 Messingham Village Hall

We’d absolutely love to see you there. 🍂❤️
