And so the season ends with one more league game.

84 games, 47 wins, 29 defeats, 1 tie and 7 rained off for the seniors sides this season and our 85th and final game of the 2026 season is trip down to Cherry Willingham.

Its been a great season for the club.

The 2nd XI finishing in their highest ever position in the history of the club.

The 3rd XI finishing runners up in the North Lindsey Cricket League.

And Saturday is a day to celebrate. There is still a few things that can be decided on Saturday. Albert, just 5 wickets off the 45 year old club record of most wickets in a season, needs 3 wickets to finish leading wicket taker in the division and Jack Smith currently sits with the most catches in the whole county with 22.

Theres 5 changes to this weeks side with Matty returing to the side and Russ, Brett, Jamie and Benj coming up from the 2nds after their 10 run win at Nettleham last week. We hope everyone can make the trip down to Lincoln and celebrate the title and the final game before our presentation evening next saturday.

What a day!

The first XI secured the 1st Division title for the 4th time in the last 10 seasons and guarenteed their return to the 2nd tier of Lincolnshire cricket for 2027. A great season was topped off with a great crowd and some special guests at Hirst priory and we thank everyone coming down to support the lads.

The 1st XI bowled well to reduce Holton Le Clay to 144 all out, with Darren Clark picking up 3 wickets for 3 runs including 2 from the final 2 balls of the innings. He was backed up with wickets all round including 2 from Jack Smith and Deol and 1 from the Skipper, Graeme and 1 from Albert to take his tally for the season to 71, just 5 off the club record most wickets in the year.

After losing 2 wickets early on Tom Smith anchored the innings with his 2nd 50 of the season and ended the day 66 not out, with Darren picking up 20 and Jack Smith 29 to take home the points needed for the title.

For the 2nd XI it was an amazing win against promotion chasing Nettleham. Batting first the 2nd XI got 163 for 8 from their 45 overs, with Sam Varley picking up his first 50 over the season and Brad King getting 33.

A good bowling display all round with Jason Whiteley and Brett Smith picking up 3 wickets to take out the top order but Nettleham fought back and it was great to see our 2 young bowlers Sam Varley and Benj Whiteley bowl at the death to see us over the line with a 10 run with.

For the 2nd XI now they can finish their highest ever position if Grimsby Town lose on the final day, just one place off the promotion positions. This is a great second half of the season with 8 wins from the final 10 games.

Today is the big one.

The 1st XI play at home this morning knowing a win against bottom of the league Holton Le Clay will guarentee the 1st Division north title for the 4th time.

We hope to see everyone at the ground supporting the first team on the big day and the final league game of cricket at Hirst Priory this season. After the season of ups and downs and a lot going on behind the scenes we want today to be a celebration of the club and its achievements on the field. The bar and ground will open from 1230 for all supporters.

For the 2nd XI we have our final league game of the season and a win on the road will see the 2nds finish in their highest ever league position. This has been a great turnaround for the 2nds after the tough start to the campaign and we with them all the very best against Nettleham Cricket Club at Owmby.

Congratulations, Aaron, on being shortlisted for this award.

Every winter, when planning for the next season's academy teams, it is always a challenge to find enough coaches to lead all of the age groups we would ideally like to run.

When Aaron put his hand up to take on the Under-11s, we could not have said "yes please" any quicker! As someone stepping into a coaching role for the first time, it was no doubt a daunting challenge to take on.

But what a fantastic job he has done. Not only did the Under-11s enjoy a successful season on the field, but Aaron also went above and beyond by organising additional training sessions and inter-club games to ensure every player stayed involved, developed their skills, and had opportunities to play cricket throughout the summer.

What makes Aaron’s contribution even more special is the feedback received from parents throughout the season. Time and again, they have spoken about how much their children have enjoyed the training sessions, how their confidence has grown, and how much they have looked forward to being part of the Under-11s. Those experiences are a direct result of the extra effort, enthusiasm and care that Aaron has invested in every player.

His willingness to volunteer, encourage young cricketers and create opportunities for everyone to participate has made a huge difference to the team and to the wider club.

Thank you, Aaron, for stepping up to take on this important role and for everything you have done to make the Under-11s such a success. Congratulations on this thoroughly deserved recognition! 🏏👏🏆

CRICKET COLLECTIVE AWARDS 2026:

Whether through fresh ideas, infectious enthusiasm, or a willingness to go above and beyond, this person has quickly become an integral part of their club or community.

Saturday Preview

The 1st XI have a week off after guaranteeing promotion to the Championship. All eyes will be on the Alford Bracebridge Heath game though as if Alford can beat second place then the title will be guarenteed before we play another game.

The 2nd team play their final league game at home tomorrow. After struggling for the first half of the season, Graeme Fletchers side have won 6 of their last 8 games and now sit 4th in table and a win tomorrow could see them move up to 3rd.

There's 3 changes to last weeks side with Rick Johnson coming down from the 1st XI to keep tomorrow and Graham Clark and Billy Scott coming in for Brad King, Adam Wroot and Ben Robertson.

The bar and ground will be open from 1230 to support the lads before the 1st XI play their final home game next Saturday.

🏏 Congratulations to Jarv and Merv on being shortlisted for this award! 🏏

Between them, Jarv and Merv represent well over 70 years of dedication to Outcasts Cricket Club and cricket across Lincolnshire.

The term legend is often overused, but in their case it could not be more appropriate.

Jarv recently celebrated an incredible 40 years of playing cricket for Outcasts C.C. During that time, he has become the club's all-time leading run scorer with over 14,000 runs, whilst also serving the club in numerous other roles including captain, coach and bar manager. Anyone who knows Jarv knows that even now he rarely misses a game and still likes to keep the skipper on his toes if he's ever left out on a Saturday!

Merv has also been a familiar face in local cricket for decades. Having played nearly 250 games for Outcasts and scored over 4,500 runs, he continues to make a huge contribution to the club today through his work around the ground and his support on match days. Beyond Outcasts, Merv continues to give back to the game as manager of the Lincolnshire Over 70s Second Team, helping others enjoy cricket well into their later years.

What makes both men so special is that their contribution goes far beyond statistics. Their commitment, loyalty and passion for grassroots cricket have helped shape Outcasts Cricket Club into the community-focused club it is today. They have supported generations of players, contributed hundreds of volunteer hours, and demonstrated everything that is great about recreational cricket.

Both are shining examples of the values our club is built upon: friendship, commitment, volunteering and providing opportunities for local people to enjoy the game.

Thank you, Jarv and Merv, for your outstanding service to Outcasts C.C. and cricket in Lincolnshire. Congratulations on this thoroughly deserved recognition! 👏🏏🏆

Congratulations, Merv Johnson on being shortlisted for this award.

Merv spends countless hours each week helping to keep the Outcasts Cricket Club ground looking its very best. Whether he is out on the mower maintaining the outfield or carefully strimming around trees, benches and boundary areas, he takes enormous pride in the appearance of the ground.

His dedication, hard work and attention to detail often go unnoticed by those enjoying the facilities, but they make a huge difference to everyone associated with the club. The excellent condition and presentation of our ground is testament to the time and effort Merv invests throughout the season.

Everyone at Outcasts C.C. is incredibly grateful for everything he does.

CRICKET COLLECTIVE AWARDS 2026:

This evening, we are delighted to continue to announce our shortlisted candidates for this year's Cricket Collective Awards - this time it's the turn of our hugely valued Grounds Managers.

Grounds Management Team of the Year - volunteers who go the extra mile to make sure players have quality, safe and sustainable facilities to enjoy cricket throughout the season.

In very tough conditions yesterday we achieved our top objective of the season with the 1st XI now guarenteed promotion back into the Championship of the Lincolnshire Premier Cricket League.

The 1st XI will be back in the 2nd Tier of Lincolnshire cricket for the 4th time in 10 seasons after a great campaign and they do it with 2 games to spare. Liam McAnaneys side will be going for the title now, knowing one win from the final 2 games will give us our 4th Division One title.

For the 2nd XI its been an amazing 2nd half of the season with Graeme Fletchers side now unbeaten in 6 games, We have gone from a relegation fight to now in with a chance of our best ever finish in Division two north. 2 wins from our final 2 games will guarentee a top 4 finish, possibly higher if results go our way.

For yesterdays games credit must go to Brocklesby Park and Grimsby Town for trying to finish games where no game was completed in the whole county. The 1st XI finished 54-1 after 11 overs chasing 150 before the rain came and at Grimsby Town the 2nd XI had Grimsby 44-7 in the rain and we tried our best to finish the tie before bad light and the 2 resiliant Grimsby batsmen put an end to the fixture and both captains shook hands.

This is a massive achievement for the club and we now look to the final 3 weeks of the season to see if most silverware can be picked up.
