Cober Hill is a beautiful Victorian mansion, steeped in history and set in 11 acres of stunning grounds. Being nestled in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and Heritage Coast, ensures breath taking views. All our rooms are en-suite and are suitable for families and large groups. We have a conference hall, lecture theatre and four beautiful lounges overlooking the gardens, croquet lawn and tennis courts. The meadows and Secret Garden provide both inspiration and tranquility, and the children's play area, clock golf and putting green, provide plenty of fun activities for children of all ages. We use locally sourced produce for our seasonally changing menu, ensuring freshness and flavour, and our head chef and hospitality team, are happy to cater for all your dietary needs. When you visit Cober Hill, you will be welcomed by friendly faces who are here to make your stay relaxing and a memorable one!

There is something freeing about trying a medium you've never worked in before.

Tutor Sue Ford welcomes guests of every ability to Cober Hill for a five-day course moving between pastel, watercolour, acrylic and mixed media collage, encouraging everyone to find and realise their own creative ideas.

Days are spent painting and experimenting, evenings unwinding after dinner with new friends.

Tutoring, en-suite accommodation and all meals are included, guests often say it is the warmth of our team that makes their stay feel like home.

Help us turn North Marine Road pink and purple to support Saint Catherine's Scarborough 🤝

The aim is to create a sea of pink and purple on Friday 28th August 2026 when Yorkshire take on Leicestershire in the Rothesay County Championship, with supporters encouraged to wear purple, have fun and help raise much-needed funds for patient care at Saint Catherine’s.

Pete Beard, Fundraiser at Saint Catherine's, said: “We're thrilled to be working with Scarborough Cricket Club on this collaboration, bringing together a fantastic day of sporting action and the chance to raise funds and awareness at the same time."

Daniel Gregory, Operations Manager at Scarborough Cricket Club, said: "Almost everyone in the area knows someone who has benefited from the services Saint Catherine's provides, so we're hoping this new initiative will raise plenty of money and grow year-on-year, much like the Wear Red day for the Ruth Strauss Foundation has."

New Residential Art Holiday

We're delighted to offer a weekend of Watercolour/Acrylic painting tuition next year.

Anthony Barrow BA will be giving a mix of group and one-to-one tuition on painting in and around Cober Hill's grounds.

This full-board weekend is ideal for those with some experience of painting with these mediums, looking to improve their technique and skills.

Partners are very welcome on this course.

There are limited spots available and some have already been booked.
