Great day at The Scarborough Fair extreme showcase day.
Great to chat with the other showcase groups and lots of new interested people from beginners to experienced paddlers.

Thanks to club members, Paul, Andy, Susie, Mark, Ruth & Sam for all your help over the day.
Who thought it’s tiring to talk all day.

Congratulations to Maddy Cott.
Maddy has just passed her kayak and canoe coach award and well on her way to moving up the coaching ladder with paddleUK.

Maddy will also be making it her mission to help develop the ladies within the club with coaching, guided trips and the shepaddles community.

Well done Maddy on all the hard work and time to help support the club.

Club White Water trip on the River Tees, from Cotherstone to Barnard Castle, Sunday 13th September 2026. Low water levels gave the group plenty of experience of "boulder hopping" but there was still plenty of sections of good running water at Grade 2/2+. If you fancy giving it a go, check out the White Water Intro session at Slenningford on 26th September.

Another organisation spotlight for our Scarborough Extreme weekend... Scarborough and District Canoe Club! 🛶🛶🛶

They are a friendly local canoe and kayaking club welcoming everyone who wants to try them out. They are out on the sea and rivers throughout the year, run pool sessions in the winter, and lake sessions in the summer, for anyone wanting to have a go; either absolute beginners or experienced paddlers, all are welcome.

They'll be bringing lots of boats for you to check out on Saturday 19th! 🛶🛶

The final Wednesday evening lake session of the year on 2nd September. The Explore Course enjoyed a little bit of time in the open boats before getting on with some skills practice in the short kayaks again. Our paddlers from Coastline Sight and Hearing enjoyed their time out on the sit-on-top kayaks and an open boat. Several members also out for a nice paddle as well. Lots of laughter as the sun set on the 2026 evening lake sessions.
