U15’s football free weekend!

After a great start to our adventure into the York league last week, the lads took a weekend off football to go and get a little wet at the North Yorkshire WaterPark.

Splitting into teams and working together to build team rafts that could carry them out into the lake and back.
All the lads worked well together in their teams, before launching the rafts into the lake; with a great amount of effort going into racing the rafts, as well as sabotaging their opponents!

Once they had warmed up it was off to the woods to hunt each other and capture the flag to be crowned last tag champion!

Another great session with these young men, who just keep growing and developing into a fantastic team - come on the Otters 🦦 ⚽️🦦⚽️.

Scalby U13s Battle Hard in Competitive Away Fixture at Dunnington

Scalby U13s travelled to Dunnington in York for what proved to be a closely contested match, with both sides creating chances throughout.

The opening stages were evenly balanced. Charlie’s freekick forced the keeper into action, and Callum went close after hitting the side netting. Despite the bright start, two lapses at the back allowed Dunnington to take a 2–0 lead into half‑time.

The second half began in similar fashion, with Dunnington adding a third. But Scalby showed real character, responding just five minutes later. A well‑delivered corner fell to Rory, who struck a superb effort from the edge of the box to pull one back and spark renewed momentum.

Scalby pushed hard for a second goal, creating further opportunities through Charlie, Seb, and Harry, all of whom continued to threaten the Dunnington defence. The boys worked tirelessly, but as fatigue set in during the final minutes, Dunnington capitalised once more to make it 5–1.

Player of the Match went to Ralph for very confident positive display.

Moment of the Match went to Rory for his thunderbolt of goal (thanks to his dad for the video)

Final Thoughts
The scoreline didn’t fully reflect the effort, competitiveness, and attacking intent shown by Scalby. There were plenty of positives — strong phases of play, multiple chances created, and a well‑taken goal — all of which provide a solid platform to build on for the next fixture.

Our under 9s were on the road today at Cayton Corinthians Junior Football Club

The two sides both had some good moments in the game. We were great on ball, strong in the defence and finished our chances well with a number of the team hitting the back of the net.

The Three Jolly Sailors Pub, Burniston Player of match went to William W for his first hatrick for the club scoring 4 across the game and the friendly. Well done William ⚽️

The SJW roofing contractors Moment of the Match went to Bailey for his brilliant on the volley.

A tough afternoon for Scalby Juniors U12s today - a 0-5 defeat, but one that doesn't tell the full story.
We were excellent in the first half, keeping a clean sheet and looking organised and competitive throughout. Finishing proved to be difficult though.
The second half was a different story as we struggled to maintain our shape, but there were plenty of positives to take.
Special mention to Thomas C who was our standout player on the day - he gave everything and more than earned his Player of the Match award.
George S was solid and dependable in midfield as always, and Tom W produced a really strong performance in goal in the first half.
We know what we need to work on and we'll be back at it in training this week.
Heads up, Scalby - the best is ahead of us. 💙

Scalby U10s visited West Pier Warriors away this morning.

Playing a well organised and competitive team the lads did a solid job and the improvements made from last year were clear to see.

The lads put in 100% effort and didn’t give up. Both goalkeepers were brave and committed.

A great goal from Jack on the break. 🥅

Our under 9s were back at Carr Lane today vs West Pier Juniors FC. The pitch was like Wembley and the action matched the pitch in a great display from both teams. There were some brilliant free kicks, passing and tackling on display. Great to be back in action.

Scalby U10s vs Scarborough Athletic

Great to be back at it! The lads gave 100% today against a solid opponent. Positionally we were far better than we have been in both defence and attack. Putting more passes together and finding ourselves in better positions.

Scarborough were solid throughout as we expected, well done to them for a great game.

POTM went to Oliver G for his outstanding work rate and desire to win the ball 👏

Easy to see the improvement made during the summer months, looking forward to the rest of the season and as always, plenty to take away and work on.

Scalby Juniors FC U12 vs Elm Park U12

The new season began with a performance full of belief, control and real Scalby identity, as the team secured a 5–2 home win in damp conditions against a determined Elm Park side.

From the very first whistle, Iris set the tone. Her calm presence, sharp reactions and excellent handling gave the team the stability they needed. Key saves at important moments kept Scalby in front and allowed the players to push forward with confidence.

George F opened the scoring with a composed finish
Will struck twice, blending pace, power and relentless pressure
Noah added a clinical goal to stretch the lead
Tom O smashed home a superb penalty with total confidence

Tom O was immense at centre‑back — reading the game superbly, stepping in at the right moments and organising the defensive line with real authority. Supported brilliantly by Sam and Max, the back line stayed composed and connected throughout.

In midfield, the two George’s controlled the tempo with strength, intelligence and creativity. Out wide, Will and Noah caused constant problems, stretching the pitch and driving at defenders all game.

Debuts for Daniel, Alfie, and Callan added even more positivity. All three showed composure, effort and a natural fit within the Scalby style of play.

Player of the Match: Tom O
A commanding defensive performance, capped with a confidently‑taken penalty. Leadership, timing, bravery — he set the standard.

And after everything — the preparation, the patience, the build‑up — this result means a lot.
We’ve waited a long time for a result like this. First game. First win. First 3 points.
