Cardio doesn’t have to leave you crawling out of the gym to be worthwhile.

Especially over 40, I’d rather choose something I can recover from and do consistently alongside my strength training.

Walking, cycling, an easy stepper session. Get moving, get your heart rate up and burn a few extra calories.

Hard cardio has its place. But harder isn’t automatically better.

If you’re over 40 and want a sensible approach to getting fitter and losing fat that fits around real life, DM me “START”.

A bad week doesn’t mean you’ve failed.

If one of my clients struggles, I’m not interested in making them feel guilty or telling them they need more willpower.

I want to know why.

Was work crazy? Were they travelling? Too hungry? Did the weekend get away from them? Or was the plan simply asking too much?

Find the problem. Adjust the plan. Get moving forward again.

That’s what accountability should look like.

If you want coaching that works with real life rather than punishing you for having one, DM me “START”.

Looking better in a T-shirt is nice.

But after 40, there are much bigger reasons to look after yourself.

To stay strong.
To move well.
To have more energy.
To keep doing the things you enjoy.
And to be there for the people who matter to you.

Fat loss can be part of that, but the number on the scales isn’t the whole story.

For me, fitness is about building a body that still lets you live your life properly for years to come.

The smaller waist?

That’s a pretty good bonus. 💪

If you’re over 40 and want to lose weight, get stronger and build fitness that actually fits your life, DM me “HEALTH” and we’ll have a chat.

Training a muscle more often doesn’t have to mean doing more work overall.

I prefer to spread my weekly sets across two or sometimes three sessions rather than cramming everything into one.

So instead of 6 chest sets in one go, I might do 3, recover, then hit another 3 a few days later.

For me, that means better-quality sets, less fatigue in any one session, and another opportunity to stimulate the muscle during the week.

How often do you train each muscle group: once, twice or more each week?

Walking won’t feel like the most exciting part of a fat-loss plan.

But it’s free, accessible, easy to recover from and something most people can consistently do every day.

You don’t need to destroy yourself with workouts to lose fat.

Sort your food, walk more and give it time.

Fat loss over 40 doesn’t need to mean another extreme diet.

You don’t need to cut out carbs, live on salads or spend hours doing cardio.

Get the basics right most of the time:

Calories roughly where they need to be.
Plenty of protein.
Walk regularly.
Lift some weights.
Then keep doing it.

It might not sound exciting, but boring works.

If you’re over 40 and want help making fat loss simpler, DM me “START” and we’ll have a chat.

At 52, my fitness routine is actually pretty boring.

I lift 3–4 times a week.
I walk a lot.
I prioritise protein.
I keep an eye on my calories.

But I also eat out, go on holiday and enjoy a few drinks.

Because staying in shape shouldn’t require fitness to become your entire life.

The basics work. The trick is building them into a routine you can actually maintain.

If you’re over 40 and want to get fitter without giving up your life to do it, DM me “START” and we’ll have a chat.

The scales jumped after one meal. It wasn’t suddenly fat.

A meal out can mean more food, more carbs and more salt than usual, and that can send scale weight up quickly.

That doesn’t mean the meal had zero impact on your fat-loss progress. It may slow things slightly.

But there’s a huge difference between slowing progress a little and ruining it.

Enjoy the occasional meal out. Then get straight back to your normal routine.

If scale fluctuations keep messing with your head, follow for sensible fat-loss advice without the extremes.

My breakfast and lunch are pretty predictable through the week.

Not because staying in shape means eating boring food.

It just means fewer decisions, easy calorie tracking and plenty of protein without having to think about food all day.

That leaves me more flexibility for dinners, meals out and weekends.

Sometimes boring is exactly what makes a plan sustainable.
