Every Friday, they line up on the mat looking much the same as they did the week before.

But each week is different:

A little more confident.
A little more resilient.
A little more skilful.
A little more disciplined.

The biggest changes in judo rarely happen in a single session—they’re built week after week through effort, persistence, and the courage to keep trying.

Tonight our Primary and Junior judoka showed exactly that. Great focus, plenty of smiles, and another step forward for every one of them.

It’s a privilege to watch these young people grow—not just as judoka, but as individuals.

Sandbach Judo draws 2025 to an incredible end, with 21 Judoka grading this evening!

Well done to everyone who has shown up consistently over the summer and autumn months and who have listened and learnt, and demonstrated their skills tonight.

Rich and Ron were awesome overseeing the gradings whilst Che and I did all the hard work herding the Primaries and Juniors that weren’t grading ! 😎

Here’s to a merry Christmas to all our players: past, present and future. And see you all in the New Year!
