Sometimes people see a business and only see what it is today. They don’t always see the years of hard work, sacrifice, worry, passion and determination that went into creating it.

Spire Inclusion is so much more than just a day service to me. It is something I have poured my heart and soul into. ❤️

I have worked in learning disabilities for over 20 years, and throughout that time I have always believed that people with learning disabilities deserve to be given opportunities, choices, independence and the chance to experience life to the fullest.

I spent 3 years at university studying, living on a student bursary, whilst still caring for my three children. I worked hard to gain the knowledge and qualifications that would allow me to make a real difference. I have also had my own struggles in life, diagnosed with spina bifida, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and ADHD. My experience, alongside more than two decades working in the learning disability sector, has shaped who I am and how I want Spire Inclusion to be.

Starting Spire Inclusion wasn't easy. There have been plenty of sleepless nights, challenges, doubts, difficult decisions and moments when I've wondered whether I was doing the right thing. Building something from the ground up takes an enormous amount of time, energy and commitment.

But I am incredibly passionate about what we do.

I didn't create Spire Inclusion to be an 'ordinary' day service. I wanted to create somewhere where people are supported to get out into the community, try new things, develop life skills, build confidence, make friendships and, most importantly, have FUN.

Every achievement, every smile, every new experience and every moment when I see someone becoming more independent reminds me exactly why I started this journey.

Spire Inclusion is my dream, but it is also the result of years of experience, hard work, learning, sacrifice and an absolute belief that the people we support deserve the very best.

It hasn't always been easy… but I wouldn't change what I've built for the world. ❤️

And I'm certainly not finished yet. There is still so much more I want Spire Inclusion to achieve. 🌟

✨ A Day of Learning & Development at Spire Inclusion ✨

Today, Spire Inclusion was closed for a dedicated staff training and development day, giving our team the opportunity to expand their knowledge, strengthen their skills and continue developing the best possible support for the people we care for. 💙

We started the day with Buccal Midazolam & Epilepsy Training, ensuring our team feel confident, knowledgeable and prepared to respond safely and effectively when supporting individuals with epilepsy.

This was followed by Behaviour Support Training, delivered by Clare Sines, focusing on understanding behaviour, recognising the reasons behind it and using positive, person-centred approaches to support individuals effectively.

We then moved on to Autism Awareness Training, delivered by Faye Murrell, exploring autism, communication, sensory needs and how we can adapt our approach to create a more understanding, inclusive and supportive environment. 🧩💙

At Spire Inclusion, we believe learning never stops. Investing in our staff means investing in the people we support — helping us to provide care that is safe, compassionate, person-centred and truly meaningful.

Wow! What can I say! This week has been full of great fun and laughter! Our week was British 🇬🇧 themed so we’ve been cooking our own scones, of course went to a British pub, learnt a sing and sign song, played football and had a music session looking at our favourite British bands and artists!
Next week is all about Italy 🇮🇹!

My Journey – From a Dream to Spire Inclusion ❤️

My name is Clare Sines, and I am a Registered Learning Disability Nurse with over 20 years’ experience working within the learning disability field.

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to create something different — something that truly focused on people, possibilities and potential.

In May 2024, I took a huge leap of faith and started Spire Inclusion with a vision: to give young people meaningful opportunities, help them build their independence and confidence, and most importantly, support them to experience life, try new things and discover what they are capable of.

I didn't want to create somewhere where people simply came along each day and passed the time. I wanted to create a place where people could learn, explore, achieve, laugh, challenge themselves and make memories.

What started as a dream has become a reality.

Watching Spire Inclusion grow and seeing the young people develop, gain confidence, overcome challenges and experience new opportunities makes me incredibly proud. Every achievement, no matter how big or small, reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.

I know I could never have done this alone. I am forever grateful to everyone who has contributed to my journey — my family, my present colleagues, and all of the amazing ex-colleagues who have supported, encouraged, taught and inspired me throughout my career.

Every person I have worked alongside has played a small part in shaping the nurse, the person and now the founder that I have become.

Spire Inclusion was once just a dream. Today, it is something real, something I am incredibly proud of, and something I hope continues to make a genuine difference to the lives of the young people we support.

Here’s to the next chapter, the next adventure, and continuing to aspire, achieve and believe in what is possible. ❤️

Oh my goodness, we are all so grateful for every opportunity, day trip, kind words and so much more that the community has given us. I’m so proud to be apart of spire inclusion have a fabulous long weekend everyone and we will be back on on Tuesday.
