🌸⛳ A wonderful day for our Ladies’ Open Bowmaker 2026!

After a busy few weeks at the Club, it was a pleasure to welcome 13 ladies’ teams from across the region to High Post Golf Club today.

The day began with bacon rolls and coffee before competitors headed out to enjoy 18 holes across our firm downland course. Our fantastic HPGC Ladies kept everyone fuelled with delicious halfway hut refreshments, before a lovely summer buffet and a few sweet treats rounded off a fantastic day.

A huge thank you to all the ladies who travelled to play with us, as well as our Ladies’ Section, volunteers and staff who helped organise and deliver such a successful event. We look forward to welcoming many of you back later this year and again in 2027! 💚

High Post is delighted to be one of the 30 pioneer clubs looking at ways to support women’s golf development 🏌️‍♀️ - more to come!

The next phase of England Golf’s Women’s Growth Plan is underway. 🙌

Following eight successful growth workshops across the country, we engaged more than 300 clubs and welcomed over 500 attendees to explore how we can grow the women’s game for those under 50.

The insight showed a clear opportunity: women make up just 12% of club membership, with only 1.3% aged 18–50. However, more women than ever are taking up the game in driving ranges and simulators, providing a huge opportunity for clubs.

We’re now moving from insight into action with 30 pilot clubs.

Our Women’s Growth Officers, Lucinda Rigg in the North and Esther Strous in the South, will work with clubs to:

✅ Identify local opportunities and partnerships
✅ Overcome local barriers
✅ Test new offers
✅ Flexible and alternative formats
✅ Produce targeted promotion for women under 50
✅ Create opportunities for people to build social connection, a sense of belonging and fun.

This is an important step in supporting clubs with practical, targeted initiatives that can create lasting impact.

As part of our work, we brought together the pilot clubs in the North to be part of our first club networking sessions.

Together, we explored our why, built meaningful connections, and began creating a supportive community focused on collaboration, encouragement, and shared growth.

Our ambition is simple: to empower and accelerate the growth of women under 50 by learning from one another, championing each other’s successes, and building the confidence and networks that help us thrive.

Thank you to everyone who brought their openness, energy, and willingness to contribute. Here’s to many more conversations, connections, and opportunities ahead.

We look forward to our next session with our South Pilot clubs in August. 🤝

🏆 White Horse Trophy 2026

What a fantastic occasion today for the annual White Horse Trophy match between the three “Salisbury” clubs — High Post, Salisbury & South Wilts, and Tidworth.

As always, the day was played in a wonderful spirit, with great friendships, sportsmanship and just the right amount of rivalry between the clubs.

In the end, High Post completed the hat-trick — three wins in a row — by the slimmest of margins:

High Post – 32.5 points
Salisbury & South Wilts – 31.5 points
Tidworth – 26 points

A huge well done to all the competitors, and especially to the High Post team, led by Club Captain Anthony Dobson, Ladies Captain Clare Fanner, and their Vice Captains, Bob Knight and Lexie Hope-Lustman.

A brilliant day, a close contest, and another proud moment for High Post.

Captains’ Festival of Golf 2026 ⛳🇬🇧

What a fantastic four days at High Post.

From Thursday’s Lady Captain’s Lunch through to Sunday’s Festival Finale, the 2026 Captains’ Festival of Golf was a wonderful reminder of what makes the Club such a special place.

There was great golf, plenty of laughter, some questionable 80s fashion choices, and above all else, a real sense of community throughout.

A huge thank you to our Captains, members, guests, volunteers, greenkeeping team, bar and catering staff, professional team and everyone else who helped make the Festival such a success.

It was also fantastic to see members support this year’s Captains’ Charity, Salisbury Foodbank, with £460 raised and a generous collection of food donated during Sunday’s Finale.

The Festival was always intended to be about more than golf — and judging by the smiles over the four days, it achieved exactly that.

Thank you to everyone who played, donated, organised, supported and helped make it such a memorable weekend at High Post. 💙
