Enjoy a walk around the southern edge of the Broad: watch the wildlife, let the kids off for a run in the rustic play area, walk the dog...

Hire a canoe and explore the Broad or head down river. Come along to one of our events: with a range for children and adults we are positive that we can offer something for everyone! We're doing everything we can to be green, sustainable, environmentally friendly and ecological sound.

Another area has been tidied up by our wonderful volunteers. The brambles and nettles were encroaching on the lookout platform, and the soil was accumulating around the wooden boards.

Our trusty volunteers cleared it all back and dug out the soil, letting the boardwalk breathe again. This will help extend its life, and you won't get snagged on bramble next time you head down there.

Autumn is calling, but Summer has not yet said goodbye. It's that in between when everything calms down at Salhouse Broad, the days begin to shorten, yet the sun still shines, and there's still so much green on display!

Now is the perfect time to visit, with warmth in the air and a slower pace of life. Come a relax and enjoy the last days of summer.

We transplanted some yellow flag iris and marsh marigold here a couple of years ago, and over time, the nettles and brambles have started to move back in and establish themselves.

Today, with our trusty volunteers, we cleared out the brambles and nettles to give the irises some more space.

In the future, we plan to transplant more natives that are doing well in this spot, like water mint.

Whilst nettles and brambles have their place (and there are plenty of places here that they occupy), we want to create a space here for other natives to take hold.

One tree. No longer a headbutting danger.

We had been watching this tree for a while, getting lower and lower, and since it started giving the ranger headbutts, it seemed like a good time to remove it. It's now a habitat pile, so will serve nature in a different way.

Massive thanks to our volunteers who turn up each week to help keep the site in order.
