When Alan Connor retired from Contract Services in 2024, we all thought "retirement" meant putting his feet up and enjoying some well-deserved rest. Clearly, Alan had other ideas!
This Sunday, 12th July, Alan is taking on the Manchester to Blackpool cycle ride to raise vital funds for the fantastic team at The Christie Charity.
We couldn’t be prouder to see him trading his desk for the open road to support such an incredible cause. If you'd like to show Alan some support and help him smash his goals, any and all donations are massively appreciated!

To the unsung heroes of our project – our volunteers – thank you.
When people visit Cadishead Grange Bowling Club today, they see a welcoming clubhouse, a fully functioning kitchen, comfortable seating areas, heaters and facilities that we can all be proud of.
What they don't always see are the hundreds of volunteer hours that have gone into making it happen.
A special thank you to Gary P for finding us a kitchen, fitting it and building the benches that have transformed our clubhouse. Thank you to Margaret for organising the kitchen, keeping everything in order and making sure it remains a welcoming space for everyone.
To our grounds team, painters, decorators and all those who have quietly rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in, we celebrate your hard work, dedication and achievement. Every improvement around the club is a reflection of your commitment and pride in what we are building together.
No, we don't do bacon butties yet... but watch this space! ☕🥓
Cadishead Grange Bowling Club is more than a bowling club. It is a community, and that community is built by volunteers like you.
Thank you for helping make the club what it is today.

A huge thank you to all of our local sponsors for supporting Cadishead Grange Bowling Club.
Without your generosity, we simply would not have been able to transform our clubhouse facilities. For a couple of years we relied on portable toilets following the closure of Cadishead Conservative Club, which made it difficult to provide the facilities our members and visitors deserved.
Thanks to the support of our landlord, who supplied running water and a toilet building, together with the generosity of our sponsors, we now have a fully accessible toilet and greatly improved facilities for everyone who uses the club.
These improvements have made a huge difference to our members, visitors and the growing number of people using the club. Many bowlers tell us we now have a very "posh toilet"! More importantly, our young bowlers, SEND participants and visitors have access to facilities that are welcoming, accessible and fit for purpose.
Every improvement helps us provide a better experience for our youth bowlers, SEND participants, social bowlers and the wider community.
We are incredibly grateful for your support and belief in what we are trying to achieve.
As we continue to grow, our focus this year is fundraising for green maintenance equipment. With more people using the green than ever before, we need the right equipment to keep the playing surface in the best possible condition for everyone.
Thank you for helping us build a club that is not only a place to bowl, but a place where the whole community can come together.

We are delighted to announce that Cadishead Grange Bowling Club has been awarded National Lottery funding to help increase Youth Bowling opportunities in Salford and deliver SEND bowling sessions for young people across the city.
This funding will help us continue to grow our youth programme, provide more opportunities for young people to get active, make friends and learn new skills, and ensure that bowling is accessible to everyone.
A huge thank you to everyone who plays National Lottery games. Your support makes projects like this possible and helps local communities thrive.
We are excited to get started and look forward to welcoming even more young people onto the green in the months ahead.

Bill, we love what you do for our community. Keep up the great work x
I’ve been out and about in our community this week doing regular checks on some of the 24/7 defibrillators that I am responsible for in Irlam and Cadishead.
As a Defibrillator Guardian, I regularly check the defibs that I look after (10 currently!), making sure batteries and pads are okay, boxes are locked correctly, keypads are working and that everything is ready for use in an emergency. This work is vital to keep defibrillators active and available on The Circuit, which is the national defibrillator network.
I am proud to have been able to support the installation of six 24/7 defibrillators for our community, with massive thanks to all from Niallfest, Freya’s Little Legs, Titan Security Fencing and the Tiger Moth for their funding and support towards them.
Also, a big thank you to Angela and the David Pennington Charity for providing funding when replacement pads and batteries are required, due to use or because they are out of date.
I am hoping to help find or raise funds for at least two more machines and lock boxes for our community to increase the availability of these potentially lifesaving devices, for when they might be needed in an emergency.
Thank you for all your support, don’t forget to get out and vote on 7th May!
