Yesterday, 26th September, the ladies and gents got together for their FInal fling. This year we made it “Greenkeepers Revenge”
Should we really have let the Two Derek’s loose to do as they wanted!! 🤔 🤣
Thankfully we got a decent day for it which everyone was relieved about as it was tricky enough without wind and rain added to things.
With the draw made and everyone getting a small port to get us underway, everyone headed out on the course to see what was in store for us.
Right in front of the first tee was a washing line of clothes which gave us an indication of what was to come!
When everyone had finished their round there was a lot of discussions and laughter which showed it was a fun, enjoyable afternoon for all, which was the whole point of the event.
Hopefully we will be able to convince the greenkeepers to plan something similar for next year.
After the golf we all then headed to Robertsons for food and drinks.
Our Lady Captain probably thought that was the end of her organising for the day but she soon had to put her seamstress hat on and help out an injured giraffe!🦒 ( the photos below explain! )
An hour later there was a very happy giraffe. Well done Liz 😂
Liz then went on to announce the winners. For the team event, the winning team was Lynn Shearer, Ross Smith and Joe Urquhart.
The ladies were also playing for their Final Fling Trophy which was won by Lynn Shearer.
Well done to all the winners.
Many thanks to Derek Ward Snr and Junior for all their planning and time put in for this event and also to Liz Pirie for all her organising. It was a great day out!
It’s hard to believe our summer season is finished and we will be into winter golf next weekend.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the club again this season. It is much appreciated by us all.
