After our Christmas Day out yesterday, the lads were feeling worse for wear this morning and were up against high flying Town & Farm.

With 11+ sore heads, a few drop outs and assistant manager Liam having to play in goal, this was always going to be a tough game.

We played well first 15 minutes and kept the hosts away from goal but after this, the goals started flying.

We didn’t create many chances ourselves until the second half which seen us get two goals. Big credit to Town & Farm who kept the balling moving and were clinical with their big chances.

Next up we face The Chichester Arms FC at home!

Next up is an away game against top of the table Town & Farm Athletic Football Club.

Another tough test but a game we’ll be looking to win.

“With last minute changes made before KO due to players missing, a poor first half saw us well behind at the break. Even though we made numerous chances we couldn’t convert.

Second half, we were in a better place and managed to nick a goal back and seemed to have more composure but it was too little too late.

Velocity was clinical in taking their chances and their keeper dominated his box well.”

The score line is a poor one after all the hard work that’s been put in on the training pitch and recent games which has seen us not concede as many.

The lads will recharge next week which sees us have our christmas night out and should help towards the team bonding!

NEXT FIXTURES

Next up is an away fixture to Velocity The Times Inn.

We have already played Velocity earlier in the season and to put it nicely ‘got battered’!

We feel we’ve improved massively as a team since last facing them and will aiming to pick up the points this time round.

Got beat by the better team on the day!

After going 1-0 up, the visitors scored with thirty seconds to go of the first half. This seemed to give them a lot of confidence in what was a scrappy game and Birtley Town were the ones to score the next goal and win the game.

NEXT FIXTURE

After four away games in a row, we now return to home soil this coming Sunday as we face Birtley Town BA.

Following on from our humbling exit to the County Cup, we’ve managed to turn things round and pick up 10 points from a possible 15 in our last five league games.

We’ll be looking to continue that form and pick up another three points this weekend so come along and give the lads some support.
