It has been a minute since my last post. There is still not much to report, but I wanted to check in. No house news yet, just endless paperwork and days at the beach. Being Italian doesn't spare you from the bureaucracy. Still on the hunt for our new place, and hopefully the next update will have more news. Until then, we are taking it one day—and one plate of pasta—at a time. Miss you all! 🇮🇹

It’s been a couple of fun and eventful weeks.
Our road trip (see map) got off to a great start with the drive through the Mont Blanc Tunnel. Travelling via Troyes, Dijon and Chamonix in France, the scenery was spectacular and the tunnel itself was pretty impressive. That was followed by a 6 km (or possibly even longer!) downhill tunnel packed with lorries overtaking each other—not quite so enjoyable.
We spent a wonderful day exploring Lake Como before arriving in Porto Recanati, where we stayed in a lovely residence and fully embraced holiday mode for a few days.
By the following Monday, it was time to switch gears. We started viewing short-let accommodation, visited the town hall and police station to sort out the paperwork, and caught up with family and friends.
We’ve now moved into a rented flat in my hometown for the next three months, and we have several property viewings lined up as we begin the search for somewhere to buy.
My yoga practice has mostly consisted of sitting in silence and practising pranayama, with very little asana. I’d hoped to join the local Iyengar centre, where two of my friends practise regularly, but it’s closed until September. It’s also rather hot here at the moment, so I may end up joining a beach yoga class instead. We’ll see.
I hope you’re all keeping well. Sending lots of love, and until next time.

After months of confirming and rescheduling exchange dates, it has finally happened: we moved out of the house today.
In the next couple of days, we'll be boarding the ferry and setting off on our road trip, with Italy as our destination.
I’ll probably be fairly quiet for the next couple of weeks, but watch this space for updates.
This isn’t goodbye. As I’m writing this, the only word that feels fitting for what I want to say to you all is Namaste.
I’ve just realised that I gradually stopped saying it at the end of classes, perhaps because I was worried it might sound like cultural appropriation, and replaced it with a simple “thank you”. I think I’m going to change that. It’s a beautiful word.
So, thank you for practising with me and for teaching me. Not just my treasured teachers, but every one of you who came to class, I have learned so much from you all.
And Namaste. I salute you.
Interestingly, salute is also the Italian word associated with health and wellbeing. So I wish you all health, prosperity, and growth on your yoga journey and throughout your lives.
Until we meet again, Namaste.
The light in me bows to the light in you.
