Another big Sunday ahead for our youth teams, with all three sides in action!

🔵 U14 – Home against AFC R&D Blues
🔴 U12 Blue – Away against Corby Hellenic
🔵 U12 Red – Away against Wollaston Victoria

Three games, plenty to play for and another opportunity for our young players to enjoy their football, work hard and represent Rushden FC with pride.

It’s another big weekend for Rushden FC as all our adult sides get set for action! ⚽️

💪 SATURDAYS
A tough away trip to Harpole. The lads will be looking for a huge improvement on last week and will be ready to put things right.

🔥 LADIES
Back at home and looking to bounce back with a much-improved performance. Come down and get behind the girls!

⚡ SUNDAYS
On the road this weekend with spirits high. The boys are ready to go again and enjoy their football.

🦁 VETS
Another one on the road as the Vets look to build on their recent form and come home with another win!

Not our day Sunday as the Ladies fell to a 6–0 defeat away at Olney.

A bad day at the office, but this is football. We dust ourselves off, take the lessons from the game and move forward. We know we need to be better, and we’ll keep working hard.

👏 Hats off to Olney a proper side. Good luck to them for the rest of the season.

🧤 GOALKEEPER COACH WANTED 🧤

Our Rushden FC 1st Team are looking for a good, committed and enthusiastic Goalkeeper Coach to join the club and help develop our goalkeepers at both training sessions and on match days.

We’re looking for someone who can bring their experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to help our keepers improve, while also being someone who could potentially support our other adult and youth teams across the club.

As Rushden FC continues to grow, this could be a great opportunity for someone who wants to become part of the wider club, work with players of different ages and abilities, and help develop the next generation of Rushden FC goalkeepers. 🔴🔵⚽

Saturday we faced Kettering Nomads at OGs as we looked to go 5 unbeaten and 4 wins on the bounce.

After warming up great once again the plan was for that to follow into the game like we had been in previous games, unfortunately this wasn’t the case.

We found ourselves 2-0 down due to very sloppy defending on both occasions and Nomads took their chances well and punished us, fair play to them, that’s how it stayed at the break and for the rest of the game.

The conditions were terrible, we created some chances, but we never looked like scoring and if we’re honest we didn’t deserve to by some of the football we played, it was a huge disappointment but fair play to Nomads - they thoroughly deserved the win and all the best for the rest of the season to them. Huge shoutout to Nomads number 6 Daley Ellis for a MOTM performance - he controlled the game and didn’t look out of place on any occasion. 👏🏻

We look to put things right this Saturday away at Harpole in a very tough fixture - a game that we expect to give 110% and show our quality like we have the previous 4 games prior.

Wilby Away ⚽️

The Sunday boys headed to Wilby for our first league game of the season, looking to bounceback from last week’s cup defeat.
After going 1-0 down following a couple of disastrous clearances, the boys responded brilliantly.

Archie levelled with an absolute screamer from distance, despite rumours he’d been out on the lash the night before!

We then went 2-1 up after another dangerous ball from Archie was deflected into the Wilby net for an own goal.

The second half became scrappy and Wilby levelled with a header. Both sides had chances, with Callum seeing a great strike tipped over and Zak rattling the crossbar.

Unfortunately, Wilby snatched the winner with a ridiculous rabona from an almost impossible angle. 🤦‍♂️

Deflating result, but plenty of positives to take. We go again next week!

After last week’s hard-fought draw away at Desborough, the Ladies will be looking to build on that performance as they travel to Olney.

🔴🔵 MATCHDAY THIS SATURDAY! 🔵🔴

RUSHDEN FC 🆚 KETTERING NOMADS

The lads head into Saturday’s game four games unbeaten, and there’s a real feel-good factor around the camp at the moment. 💪⚽️

Confidence is high, performances are improving and the boys are looking to keep the wheels firmly moving forward.

But we know this will be another tough test.

Kettering Nomads are a well-established side and will bring plenty of experience, so the lads will need to be at their best from the first whistle.

One thing’s for sure it’s set up to be a cracking afternoon of football. 🔥
