🐦 Woodpeckers Match Report 🐦

A tough game for the Woodpeckers tonight against a strong Fireflies side.

We took a little while to find our rhythm, but as the game went on we really started to settle, putting together some much better passages of play and creating more opportunities in attack.

Despite Fireflies building a lead, the heads never went down. Everyone kept working, fighting for every loose ball and supporting each other right through to the final whistle. 💪

A brilliant performance from Kay, working tirelessly throughout and making an impact all over court. Thoroughly deserved! 👏

🏅 Captain's Player – Ange
For a determined performance, working hard throughout and continuing to give everything even when we were up against it. ❤️

Not the result we wanted, but plenty of positives to build on and a great team effort right to the end.

Nice little win today. A lovely game of netball. We were quite evenly matched but we managed to stay ahead of our opponents by a few goals throughout the game .

Louise has done amazing tonight getting in some fantastic interceptions absolutely on fire with them 🔥She worked to get the ball back off the opponent team. Marking the ball when needed adding pressure to other players. It’s the second time in a row she’s got player of the match so definitely well deserved.

Holly is consistently helping out where needed on court and behind the scenes, she swaps her position to benefit the team. Holly was communicating well with her team making good decisions on court along with some supper interceptions, she was also on fire tonight ☄️🔥

Well ladies a tough one tonight so a big well done !
Some great play from all of you girls as per usual. A big shout out to Holly M for trying new positions in the game, that can be really hard to cope with in a game and you smashed it.
Claire and Sarah thank you for always helping out ❤️ you guys always go full steam ahead.
To be honest I think the game was a good game all considered as a good number of our team has came back from injury you all smashed it.

WIN 32–12 🎉🔥

What a game from the Flamingos today! We absolutely took control of the game from the start, playing some brilliant netball and working so well together as a team. The movement, passing and communication were on point, and we kept the pressure on right through to the final whistle. 💪🏼🦩

We stayed focused and really showed what we can do when we play as a unit, it was intercept galore! 32–12 is a fantastic result and a well-deserved win! ❤️

Absolutely smashed it at WA, creating space, making some lovely feeds and keeping the attack moving beautifully. You were everywhere you needed to be and a massive part of our attacking play today. 👏🏼🔥

This says a lot about Rosie’s performance on court. Always an option, always moving and generating that forward momentum. Reads the game really well, constructive advice on court. Just a superstar that’s all !!

It’s no mean feat keeping up with any of the Hotshots players but centre court have their work cut out and Em makes it look easy. We couldn’t turn the game in our favour but it didn’t stop Em from putting in maximum effort.

This week - Marie.
Centre court really getting all the love as tonight’s game was another super paced, uphill battle. We managed to get our hands on a 1 point lead at the end of the second quarter but this just slipped away from us and we couldn’t successfully turn it back in our favour. We made a couple of mistakes and they capitalised, hey go.
Always a pleasure being on court with these ladies.
