Saints Ladies Touch Rugby – Tournament Report
Back after our summer break, Saints Ladies Touch Rugby were back on the pitch yesterday for a tournament hosted by Bugbrooke RUFC - Ladies Touch Rugby
It was a seriously warm day, and the squad were certainly put through their paces! We played four games in total, with three played one after another, really putting everyone’s stamina to the test.
The first couple of games were tough, but we battled hard and finished the tournament with two wins and two losses. There was plenty of determination, some great effort and, as always, plenty of support for each other. Not a bad way to blow away the cobwebs after the summer break!
We were also absolutely delighted to be awarded Spirit of the Game, voted for by the other teams. It was lovely to be recognised for the way we play and the way we conduct ourselves on and off the pitch. We’re competitive, but we always want to play with respect, encourage others and enjoy our rugby — so this was a really special one for us.
Our Players' Player goes to Jen, our player coach, who stormed onto the pitch every time with plenty of gusto and drive, leading by example and managing to score a try or two along the way. She certainly knows how to coach from the front!
Huge well done to the whole squad. Coming back after the summer break and facing three games back-to-back in that heat was a proper test, and everyone dug deep.
