The 2nd XI continued their winning streak yesterday making it 7 wins on the bounce against promotion chasing Byfield. Club chairman PJ fancied an early finish as he sent the top order back to the pavilion with 6-36 while Rav built the pressure with 4 maidens on the bounce. Admin got a bit excited yesterday and forgot we had a Sunday fixture ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Make it 4 wins from 4 last week ๐Ÿฅณ with our Sunday team edging over the line against Indigo cc. Standout performance from Joban (again) with a career best 98* and all bowlers contributing to wickets. A great week for the club ๐Ÿ. Just one league fixture this week for the 2nd XI against MK Air and a Sunday friendly against Willoughby.

3 wins this week, the midweek team finished their season in the RDCL with a 3rd place finish in division 2. Saturday in the Northampton cricket league proved to be a batting day with 600 runs scored across both teams ๐Ÿ. Both teams are now on a 5 game winning streak!

After threatening it the last couple of seasons the 2nd XI broke the 300 mark for the first time in their history yesterday. Joban hitting 69 despite a severely bruised finger, Olly hitting his 4th 50 in as many games and Dave finding some form after borrowing Ollyโ€™s spare bat (Runs should go to Olly right!). And Loz taking his 3rd 5 wicket haul sealed the victory.

Barby Cricket Club thank you for an enjoyable game yesterday. And so good to have a proper cricket tea. Shame it did not slow your guys down in the field. Congratulations to your youngsters who performed well with great mentoring from the less youthful members of the team. From D&B's side, well bowled Immy, Raff and Pradesh. Nice knock from Robbo who bravely returned after taking one in the eye thanks to a helmet design flaw.

A fantastic day had at Dunchurch Sportsfield & Village Hall for the annual Friends of Dunchurch Society village fete showcasing what we have to offer at the club. Lots of fun batting and bowling games held in the nets for the kids with lots of prizes handed out. ๐Ÿญ ๐Ÿ

A wet week last week where only 1 of the 4 games managed a result. A friendly T20 against our neighbours Bilton Grange faders went ahead despite a heavy downpour just before the start of play, despite this the game went ahead and was played in great spirits by both teams. The 3 league games were abandoned without a ball being bowled. Letโ€™s hope for some more cricket this week ๐Ÿ โ˜”๏ธ
