Tae Kwon-Do

Tae Kwon-Do is a Martial Art developed by the Korean Military during the 1950′s to improve the fitness of its soldiers and provide them with unarmed combat skills. It is based on Tae Kyun, an ancient Korean foot fighting art and Karate – as a result of the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1910. During the 1960′s, Tae Kwon-Do was introduced to the rest of the world where it has continually developed into the dynamic, modern discipline it is today, suitable for men, women and children of all ages and abilities. Some of the benefits of Tae Kwon-Do

-Fitness
With a combination of line work, patterns, pad work, set sparring and free sparring you’re sure to get a great all over work out and improve your level of fitness.

-Flexibility
With a combination of passive and active stretching your flexibility will improve greatly.

-Self Defence
Once you have learnt the basic moves, you will apply them to set sparring, a safe way to practice self defence skills.

-Confidence
With improved fitness, flexibility and self defence skills, your confidence and self esteem are sure to improve

The TAGB (Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain) was founded in 1983 to promote Tae Kwon-Do in the UK and develop a national grading standard. The TAGB is now the largest martial arts association in the UK with nearly 26,000 licensed members training at over 600 clubs. It is also a founder member of the BTC (British Tae Kwon-Do Council) and TKDI (Tae Kwon-Do International)
