As I move into a new stage for my tuition business it seems the right time to update my logo.
My maths tuition is very often about building confidence and resilience in maths, along with teaching the topics and understanding.
As the sunflower stands for growth and positivity even through challenges and represents happiness and steadfast commitment, it seems completely appropriate that this should be the symbol of my tuition business.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student grow throughout the year and become more confident and positive about their maths learning. I also love being the tutor that remains completely committed to helping them achieve their end goal.
Here’s to more exciting times ahead for Positive Tuition. The logo is just the start !!!! 🌻

2 papers down and 1 to go!
It’s been a big and busy week for my students and also in our household. However, what an amazing surprise to see a new student attending my zoom maths lesson this morning 😊
I just love this job and the amazing families I work with.

Preparing for gcse workshop this afternoon.
I always like to work through any papers I will be giving to the students so that I can pick up on areas where I feel they may struggle.
Some juicy questions in this higher practice paper.

As we head into the midst of exam season I just want to say how proud I am of each and every student I teach.
In August we’ll get the GCSE results and the media will produce statistics and talk in numbers and targets.
However, targets and statistics don’t show the real student.
Each and everyone is more than just a number. I am proud of
•The students who are managing their anxiety and nerves
•The students who are balancing revision with playing sport
•The student who battle illness but still push through
•The students who have shown that sometimes there can be another way of learning that doesn’t involve school
•The students who are good at maths but pushing themselves that bit more to make sure they do their absolute best
•The students who have struggled with maths all their school life but finally can say “oooh I love these questions”
•The students who have never given up and have shown perseverance by retaking their exams
To each and every one of my amazing tutees, I wish you all the very best for this week and send lots of positive vibes.

With a week to go until the first maths gcse paper I know students are really revising hard.
Three really good sites to use at this stage are:
Maths Genie
1st class maths
Hannah Kettle maths
All sites have great topic and revision questions and have also produced good extra practice papers for Paper 1.
Gone are the days of just a text book and checking the answers at the back of the book!!!

Well it’s getting to that time of year where every spare moment seems to be filled with tuition.
With the first maths exam being just a week away students are really digging in deep to perform as well as they can.
This morning my GCSE student even came for tutoring on her birthday. Birthday cake was definitely a well earned reward and also a little visit from Stanley 🥳
