A hard fought league victory came the Steelmen’s way at last. Both sides competed against each other well in this one and the key moments came in the second half.

A half time 1-1 scoreline seemed right as Parkgate started the better only to see The Ambers take control of the half and get the deserved equaliser.

The next goal was key and we got it, to then follow it up six minutes later with a third - which proved to be enough, despite again Handsworth pressing and finding a second which set up a ten minute finale we defended well in and also broke away, but to no avail.

It’s a welcome 3 points to take into a Friday night away game.

A big thanks to our close colleagues at Hallam FC who have allowed us to sign Steve McDonnell on a dual registration deal.

“Macca” is well known to Nebsy and Joe having played for and with them respectively.

It’s a good deal for all. We get a player who needs games and has scored many goals in previous seasons.

Welcome Macca.

A second half to really put to bed very quickly in this one; and to put the game into context, this is versus an unbeaten team in the league above the Steelmen.

However, credit to our hosts who have come out and done a professional job on us in that 45 mins.

After going two down, we’ve arguably looked the better side and created some chances in the first half, but couldn’t make it 2-1. Half time came and went and the rest is history whatever was said in both changing rooms at half time.
