Burt put in a real Rolls-Royce of a defensive performance today! 🚘👏 Identifying danger, reading the game brilliantly, strong in the challenge and composed throughout. A fantastic display at the back! 💪

Max looked electric today! ⚡️ His passing continues to grow, with some really cute passes creating opportunities for the team. He was hassling and harrying for every ball and simply never gave them a minute! 🔥

The amount of training this lot have put in throughout the summer has massively paid off, and it really showed on the pitch today. Some fantastic football was played, and we head into the new season next week on a real high! 🔥

We couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved so far. The hard work, commitment and attitude from the whole team has been brilliant — now we’re raring to go and ready to smash the league! 💪⚽️

Austin played at CB today and was an absolute force to be reckoned with! 💪 He put in a fantastic performance, played some brilliant football and fully deserved to be chosen as the Parents’ Player of the Match.

A huge Thurcroft Hubstars welcome to our brand-new U7s team! ⚽️🌟

The boys and girls have officially kicked off their Hubstars journey, playing their first ever game this week, and what a fantastic start it was! 🙌👏

There were smiles, excitement, teamwork, some brilliant football and, most importantly, lots of fun! ⚽️🥰

A massive well done to every single player for getting out there and giving it their all. We’re so excited to watch you learn, grow and develop together over the coming seasons. 💚

A big thank you to Coach, Rich Down, for taking on the team and helping these young players begin their football journey. 👏⚽️

Girls match report

A great first outing after a couple of weeks away, as the girls played up at TRC instead of training to blow off the cobwebs and start preparing for the new season.

With a couple of players missing, there was some experimentation with positions, but the girls adapted brilliantly. After a strong first half, we went into the break 2-0 up.

A slow start to the second half allowed the visitors back into the game, but a couple of changes saw us regain our shape. Scarlett then produced a rocket from around 20 yards to restore the lead!

The girls finished strongly and could have added a couple more, but overall a really positive evening with plenty to build on before the league starts.

Coaches’ POTM – Paige
Playing centre midfield for the first time, Paige was outstanding. She showed real bravery in the tackle, worked tirelessly tracking back, and was calm and composed in possession throughout. Paige dictated spells of the game with her passing, linked play really well, and showed great awareness in both attacking and defensive moments. A superb all-round performance and her best since joining us.

Parents’ POTM – Erika
A fantastic performance in goal. Erika made several excellent 1v1 saves, came off her line confidently, and was vocal throughout, organising her defence and constantly reminding players to mark and stay goal-side. She couldn’t have done much more for the two goals conceded after making outstanding stops beforehand. A really commanding display.

Parents’ POTM – Ava
First game back and absolutely no rust at all! Ava was a constant threat from the first whistle, playing up top and causing problems all game. She carried the ball brilliantly, showed great strength and direct running, and consistently beat her defenders. Her movement and finishing were rewarded with two excellent goals, capping off a standout performance. A real handful all evening and a nightmare for defenders!

We still are on the lookout for a goalkeeper to join our under 13s team. A brilliant set of kids and parents.

This recognition is so well deserved. Jason’s passion, dedication and commitment to grassroots football shine through every single week. He gives countless hours to helping young players develop, not just as footballers, but as confident, respectful and resilient individuals.

Being recognised at county level is a fantastic achievement, and although he just missed out on the top award, being Highly Commended is something to be incredibly proud of.

Thank you, Jason, for everything you do for our players, our families and our club. Your hard work never goes unnoticed, and we’re lucky to have you as part of the Hubstars family. 💚🖤❤️
