We're delighted to announce that Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA has been shortlisted for the Referee Development Award at the County FA Recognition Awards 2026.

Our Match Official Academy Programme has been recognised for its work supporting and developing young match officials across our region.

Designed around feedback from referees, the two-year programme provides tailored support through expert coaching, peer learning groups, bespoke workshops delivered by match officials from the professional game, and regular match observations.

The first cohort delivered outstanding results, with all 12 participants achieving promotion, securing 14 promotions between them, and several progressing into national development programmes.

The winners will be announced at Wembley Stadium connected by EE on Wednesday 4 November 2026.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the programme, and good luck to all the finalists! 🤞

Join us tonight for our practical Match Fit Development Night. Anthony Taylor told our County FA Development Evening “Move to get a view” in his clear message on positioning, tonight Alan and Sam will lead on field sessions on being in the right place to make those credible decisions and also cover what’s required for those promotion fitness tests. Bring clothing for outdoor training on grass and appropriate fluids. There is a bar serving refreshments etc
7pm for a 7.15pm start.

📢 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙐𝙥𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚: Discipline Services are moving to The FA

From today, 1 July 2026, discipline services for Sheffield & Hallamshire football will be managed by The FA's dedicated County FA Discipline Service Team.

The new service is designed to make the discipline process quicker, more consistent and easier to navigate, with specialist staff handling cases and supporting everyone involved.

The FA's County FA Discipline Service Team will manage all disciplinary matters on behalf of Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA, including:

🔹Conducting disciplinary investigations
🔹Preparing case files
🔹Raising charges
🔹Arranging hearings
🔹Liaising with relevant parties where required
🔹Administering suspensions
🔹Providing end-to-end discipline case management and support
