⚽ Ross Juniors U12s vs Wotton Rovers ⚽
A fantastic team performance in a closely contested encounter!
Ross Juniors U12s put in another tremendous team effort against Wotton Rovers in what was always set to be a competitive fixture. With both teams performing well in their respective league campaigns, a hard-fought contest was expected, and the match certainly delivered!
Squad:- Leo, Rocco, Oliver, Osian, Fred, Reuben, Jayden, Liam, Isaac, Jamie and Otto.
The opening stages were evenly matched, with both sides looking to break the deadlock. Ross took a little time to settle into their rhythm, but once the boys found their feet, they began to create opportunities. Their efforts were rewarded when Jayden calmly slotted the ball home at the front post to give Ross the lead. ⚽
The goal lifted Ross's confidence, and the boys enjoyed a spell of dominance, moving the ball well and looking dangerous going forward. However, a penalty decision against Ross gave Wotton Rovers the opportunity to draw level, and they duly converted to make it 1–1.
The second half continued in much of the same fashion, with both teams battling hard to find a breakthrough. Another penalty decision, this time in Ross's favour, presented an opportunity to regain the lead. Reuben stepped up and confidently found the bottom-left corner to put Ross ahead. ⚽
Ross continued to play with confidence and determination, but Wotton were equally keen to get back on level terms. Following a succession of corners, a scramble inside the box resulted in Wotton finding the net to equalise once again.
With 15 minutes remaining, the match was tense. Both teams pushed hard for a winner, creating a tense and exciting game that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. Despite the late pressure, neither side could find that decisive goal, and the match finished all square.
