Another dramatic ending for the Warriors and another vital 3 points!

The lads started brightly today and moved the ball well. Good movement off the ball allowed us to find some good spaces and create some super early chances.

On another day we could've easily been 3 up, thankfully we were able to convert one thanks to a composed finish from Phalon.

The opposition created some fantastic chances themselves but Riley made some outstanding saves to keep us in the lead.

A really good battle throughout the first half and a lapse in concentration at the back allowed them to get level.

We started the 2nd half well and both teams continued to attack. Thankfully, Riley was spot on today and commanded his area.

As the game got a bit fiery, it was the Warriors who kept their cool and continued to battle. Oscar was unlucky with his shot off the bar.

Back and forth action into the final minute saw Bobby play a beautiful through ball, and the energetic Mason was there to burst through and slot the ball home! 🥊

The never say die attitude and the boys got their reward. 💪

Man of the match ;

Riley - pulled off some outstanding saves, great handing, super kicking and commanded his area. 🧤

Ryan - started strong in the middle and then moved to left back. So strong and calm on the ball and tead the game so well.

Bobby - great attitude in training is paying off. 👌 made some crucial takles in the middle and got the vital assist at the end.

Oscar - worked tirelessly and battled hard for every ball. Fantastic worked up and down the pitch.

I honestly think every single player gave me everything today, these games are tough to play in but they never back down or give up. Super proud of these lads today. ❤️⚽️

Shawclough Wasps v Royton town Tigers.
Good start to the match today, constantly on the press and really challenging the opponents. With a nice equaliser finish from Clayton for the first half. Going into the second half the opponents really pressured the Wasps. Although Lucas Jones made some incredible saves today the Opponents found their feet and took the win with not much of a score difference. Struggled in the second half with communication and became quiet on the pitch.
We don’t loose, we learn .
Let’s go again Wasps and shine off our little areas of improvements.
Coaches POTM- Lucas S , stepped up as our Captain for the day and really put every bit of passion and energy and work rate. Playing with a nasty injury but still challenged this and put it into his boots. Well done.
Opposition POTM - Issac, what a defender you are. You was like a constant machine at the back and really switched on. It is a credit to have you on the team for your first season at Shawclough.

Shawclough Jag v Winton Rams
We started off on the front foot playing some lovely football and causing Winton lots of issues. We got caught with a goal against the run of play but that didn’t phase us and we scored a sublime equaliser straight away.
We asked the team to talk more as that is our downfall as we are a quiet team and I saw glimpses of that today which pleased me. We went in at half time a goal down but the team were told to keep doing what they were doing and we can turn it around. Unfortunately we never came out for the 2nd half and conceded again. We got back to our football but we started to force our chances. Lots of positives but we really need to start listening and cut out the messing about at games and training.
