Our rattlers built on the foundation of their first season and continued to progress with a great season in Division 15. Finishing 4th just outside of the promotion positions under fantastic leadership from Callum Engerer & Nathaniel Summerhill.

The depth of batting was much imported with Andrew Powell 3rd in the league with 417 at 69.5. Abhi Nagella in his first season for the club scoring 291 at 72.75 while also making big contributions for the first XI also with 3 fifties. Ajay Patel also amongst the runs with 277 at 25.18 and another 3 fifties. Colin Do Mongehomme aka Kye Morris with his first two fifties for the club and all our rattlers benefitting from time at the crease and developing their game.

With the ball captain Engine lead from the front with 15 wickets at 18.87 and Harley Rollason (13) in his first senior year of cricket taking 15 wickets also at 15.33 including a sensational 4/5. Ajay bowled with great control with an economy under 3 and 13 wickets at 16.77 and Kye with 10 at 13.40.

There was a great all around effort in the field also with standards improving and everyone putting a shift in to help the team.

Great also to have new recruits bolstering the squad and delighted that we didn't concede one game all year which is sensational for a growing club like ours. With more juniors coming through the pathway to play next year also we'll be gearing up for another great season of Rattling.

So the season is done and dusted for the firsts and Table confirm that beautiful green triangle pointing upwards.

The season has been built on some fantastic performances.

Alex Curry & Tom Willis also making solid contributions during the year averaging in the 30s showing the strength of the top order. All the batting unit made valid contributions across the season with the lower order also getting us over the line in a few close encounters.

The Earl of Twirl Geraint Tucker with 20 wickets at 26 also who was getting better and better as the season carried on. Porth Promotion Push Continues as we pick up an 8 wicket win.

After winning the toss Sudbrook twos were asked to bat and we stated with great intent. Ali Bryers with a fantastic spell taking key early wickets with 4/18 off his 8 overs. Jac P working well in tandem for the tallest opening bowler partnership in the league.

Aum and Lewis next up to bowl as regular wickets fell. This time Lewis taking the wickets with another great spell 4/28 off 8 and a sharp caught and bowled.

Uncle tuck also with a key wicket with 1/40 and also Aum taking a wicket on his return for 1/40.

The fielding effort throughout was superb throughout with Alex Curry taking three catches and good grabs from Aplin and Hembrow. The visitors were restricted to 176.

In reply Aplin and Curry laid a solid foundation hunting down the target with an 82 partnership with Alex falling for a bright 30. Skipper Lewis A was next in but decided to average 128 across the last two games with a first baller falling for LBW. With a classic Porth Collapse in the offing Tom Willis came to the crease and went off to a flyer, striking lots of boundaries in quick succession and bringing the target within reach. Olly passed his fifty with the Aplin fan club in situ to make dad and brother proud and Tom not far behind as we passed the total. Olly finishing on 64 and Tom 57.

20 pts picked up and promotion very much In our hands pending the result of todayโ€™s game at Llantwit.

Great all round performance this week and we look forward to next Saturday and a trip to Barrybados to hopefully secure promotion ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ

Porth CC traveled to St Fagans needing to get a win to keep promotion on track.

Lewis lost the toss and the opposition decided to bat first on a hot day. Ali and Jac started well and even took early wickets, a rarity for us this season. This was then backed up by some good bowling from Lewis and Tucker getting the opposition 8 down with only 158 on the board, before some excellent batting from the number 6 Majoe who hit an excellent 94 off 65 before being dismissed by Tucker. The opposition ended on 233 all out a competitive total. Moment of the first half was Gareth Williams taking a catch at fine leg which no one had faith in.

In reply Porth had a dreadful start with both openers departing early. Olly with 8 and Chicken with a golden duck. His third duck in a row against St Fagans obviously a team he loves batting against. This left Lewis A and Lewis D at the crease and they built a brilliant partnership of 221 chasing the total down with 11 overs to go. Lewis D used at least 5 of his lives being dropped multiple times but made the most of it. Lewis A with an emphatic 128* off of 95 and Lewis D 63* off of 68

A great day of cricket played in great spirits. Thank you to St Fagans for being excellent hosts. ๐Ÿ
