It’s a great opportunity for our younger members to get some extra training time, build their skills and confidence, and enjoy karate with friends from across the clubs. 💪🥋

September Development Day - registration open

If your child has started asking about competitions, or it's something you'd like to explore, Development Day is the best place to start.

We work on the foundations of competition karate: speed, agility, coordination, reactions, decision making and strength.

Great skills to develop, whether they go down the competition route or not. All school-aged members welcome.

🥋 Sensei Hasegawa Seminar Days 1 & 2 🥋

What an incredible first two days of training with Sensei Hasegawa Team World Karate Champion. 🇯🇵🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 So much knowledge, detail and inspiration shared across the sessions, with everyone from our youngest karateka to our most senior instructors and lots of incredible friends coming from all over to learn and develop together.

A brilliant couple of days on the floor with the Sh*tokai Scotland family. 🥋

Scotland welcomes karate legend Shinichi Hasegawa - sponsorship opportunities

This August 14–16, Sh*tokai Scotland is proud to host Shinichi Hasegawa Sensei, a multiple World Kata Champion and one of Japan’s most revered karate masters, for a very special three-day seminar.

Our two organisations have shared a close bond for over 20 years, giving our students a direct path to world-class Japanese tuition. In 2024, thirty of our members travelled to Japan for a 10-day training and culture tour. Now Sensei is returning to teach us here at home; open to all, regardless of age or ability.

This year is special, Sensei will be joined by three senior instructors, two of whom won gold for Japan at the 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo. Their teaching transcends language with no words, no barriers, just superb technique shared in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We believe our younger students especially will treasure the chance to learn from teachers who communicate purely through movement.
