Redruth Albany RFC ๐Ÿ‰ Est. 1929. Redruth Albany first formed in 1928, gaining official status as a Rugby Football Club in 1929.

Grassroots rugby in Redruth, Cornwall.

๐Ÿ  Clubhouse: Station Hill, TR15 2PP
๐Ÿ•ก In-Season Training: Tuesdays 18:30
๐Ÿ“ฉ Joining & venue booking enquiries welcome.
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Together on the Hill. Our playing grounds are based at Trewirgie Hill, TR15 2TB. We currently have one team of men's seniors playing in the Counties 3 Tribute Cornwall League. Our grounds are also used by Trewirgie School and our formerly regular - but still occasional - women's team convene at our pitch for training for charity and sevens events during the year. Our Clubhouse is a 10 minute walk downhill from the grounds at Station Road, TR15 2PP situated at the heart of Redruth town centre. The clubhouse is our hub for rugby players to get together after games and for social occasions. Additionally, it is a base for our dedicated men's and women's darts team and a pool league. Both function rooms are open to the public for group bookings throughout the year. We are RFU accredited, open to the public and as of 18th March 2023, will be signatories to the Armed Forces Covenant. As such, the club is at the heart of the Redruth and Trewirgie community. We have a goal to extend our reach and recruit further so if you are interested in sponsoring Redruth Albany RFC, playing or volunteering in any capacity, please get in touch.

**Announcement from the Trustees of Redruth Albany RFC**

It is with great sadness that the Trustees of Redruth Albany RFC have made the difficult decision to close the clubhouse from the end of October 2026.

This decision has not been taken lightly. Like many pubs and clubs across the country, we have been facing significant financial challenges caused by rising costs, changing customer habits, increased utility bills, and the ongoing pressures affecting the hospitality sector. Unfortunately, despite the hard work and dedication of many volunteers and supporters, we have also been unable to fully recover from the significant theft suffered a few years ago.

As custodians of the clubhouse, we feel it is no longer possible to give the building the care and attention it deserves. We are unable to carry out the essential repairs, maintenance and improvements needed to preserve and present the clubhouse to the standard that our supporters and community deserve.

From November, we are pleased to confirm that our good friends at Redruth Cricket Club have agreed to temporarily host Redruth Albany RFC whist decisions are made regarding the future of the clubhouse.

Importantly, this is not the end of Redruth Albany RFC. It is simply the beginning of a new chapter in our club's proud history. The values, friendships and spirit that have defined Albany for generations remain as strong as ever, and rugby at the club will continue.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed to the clubhouse and helped keep it going over the years. Whether through volunteering, fundraising, sponsorship, or simply enjoying the facilities, your support has been invaluable.

A final farewell evening at the clubhouse will be arranged towards the end of October, with further details to follow.

Thank you for your continued support.

FIXTURES UPDATE | 2026/27 ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Our updated First Round fixtures are here.

Following the CRFU decision to delay the start of grassroots rugby in Cornwall after the recent prolonged dry weather and hard ground conditions, the opening weeks of the league season have been reshaped with player safety rightly taking priority.

Albany will now begin the Counties 3 Tribute Ale Cornwall campaign away to Saltash II on Saturday 26 September.

The originally scheduled opening fixtures against Roseland and Illogan Park have not disappeared - both have been moved into the revised programme, with Roseland now falling in October and Illogan Park later in November.

It gives us a slightly different road into the season, but the direction has not changed.

A bigger league. More rugby. More opportunities to build momentum, bring people through the gate, represent Redruth and make Trewirgie Hill a place teams know they have had to earn everything from.

There is a long season ahead, and plenty still to come both on and off the pitch.

New dates. Same line.

๐Ÿ‰ NEXT UP | JOINT TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

This Saturday we head to St Agnes for a joint training and development session with St Agnes RFC.

Thereโ€™s an old local legend that the giant Bolster could stand with one foot on St Agnes Beacon and the other on Carn Brea - perhaps the connection between our two patches of Cornwall goes back further than we thought. ๐Ÿ˜…

A good opportunity to get useful work in, share ideas and build towards the season ahead.

Proud to have Luke Collins - Movement & Rehab Specialist on board with the team this year. If youโ€™re looking for support with movement, rehab, strength or confidence in your body, give his post a read and drop him a message! ๐Ÿ”ตโšช

Itโ€™s probably time I reintroduced myself

Iโ€™m Luke Collins, a Movement & Rehabilitation Specialist based in Cornwall.
I help people move better, reduce pain, build strength and feel more confident in their body โ€” particularly if injury, persistent pain, a medical condition, or simply getting older has made exercise feel harder than it used to.

That means I can help in a few different ways, depending on where youโ€™re starting:
โ€ข 1-to-1 coaching and rehabilitation
โ€ข movement-focused personal training
โ€ข sports therapy and treatment
โ€ข hybrid coaching with face-to-face and guided home support
โ€ข online support for people who need structure and accountability
โ€ข small group programmes, including Strong for Life for adults 50+

For some people, the starting point is pain.
For others, itโ€™s loss of strength, reduced confidence, an old injury, a medical condition, or simply not knowing where to begin.

Thatโ€™s why my approach is built around finding the right starting point for you.
You donโ€™t need to arrive knowing whether you need rehab, treatment, coaching, Pilates or a structured programme. My job is to help guide you to the right path and build a plan that works for your body, your goals and your life.

Iโ€™m not interested in quick fixes, punishing workouts or making people feel like they need to be fit before they start.
Iโ€™m much more interested in helping people understand their body, build from where they are now, and create something sustainable that actually improves everyday life.
So whether you want to:
โ€ข get out of pain
โ€ข move with more confidence
โ€ข return to exercise safely
โ€ข improve strength and mobility
โ€ข manage a condition more effectively
โ€ข or simply feel better in your own body
Iโ€™d love to help.

Iโ€™ll be sharing more here about movement, rehabilitation, pain, strength, healthy ageing and the different ways people can work with me.

So whether youโ€™ve followed me for years or youโ€™re completely new here โ€” hello.
And if youโ€™ve been thinking about getting some help but arenโ€™t quite sure where to start, send me a message and we can talk through the best route for you.

Luke

๐Ÿ‰ **LINE UP โ€” PRESEASON**

A **24-man Albany squad** will make the short trip to Camborne tomorrow evening for our first preseason fixture against Camborne III.

๐Ÿ“ **Camborne**
๐Ÿ“… **Friday 14 August**
๐Ÿ•– **Kick Off 19:00**
๐Ÿ‰ **Camborne III v Redruth Albany**

**Connor Parrott captains the side, with Mike Gilman-Hill as vice captain.**

With the game played over an hour, there will be valuable minutes available across the squad. The aim is simple: bring intensity, put the work from training into practice, build combinations and get match fitness in the bank ahead of the league campaign.

For those starting and those coming into the game, every minute is an opportunity to empty the tank and move the group another step forward.

A strong squad. A first proper test. Preseason moves onto the pitch.

If you're around tomorrow evening, make the short trip over and get behind the lads. ๐Ÿ”ตโšช
