🌟 First Away Game of the Season for the badgers 🦡

Great to be back on the pitch for a brand‑new season. Today we headed to Worcester for our first away fixture, and what a brilliant start it was.

We welcomed some new players into the squad and they absolutely shone. They slotted in beautifully, showing confidence, energy, and a real willingness to learn. The whole team worked well together — supporting each other, sharing ideas, and growing stronger with every minute on the pitch.

Winning or losing isn’t the focus for us. What matters is the fun, the teamwork, and the learning that happens along the way. And today, we saw all of that in abundance.

A fantastic start, full of promise for the season ahead.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us for our Club Open Day. It was great to have a full set of fixtures against Old Halesonians Hockey Club, and the Pick Up a Stick event was certainly a highlight for this admin, especially knowing that at least one parent has since been out to order their very own stick 🏑

A big thank you as well to all of our generous raffle sponsors: Abbey Stadium, Burgerr Off, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Tenpin Redditch, Monty’s Spice Route Café, Botany Bay Nurseries, Garden Centre & Café, 360 Play Redditch, and Game On Fitness. Please do support the local businesses and clubs that continue to support us.

Finally, the biggest thank you goes to our volunteers, because without you, simply none of this happens. There are far too many people to name individually, but a special shout-out must go to Julie K for reaching out to all our sponsors, and to Baz FM for providing the tunes throughout the day.

🌟 Redditch Juniors Hockey is back — and we can’t wait to see you on the pitch again! 🏑

A brand‑new season is just around the corner, and we’re kicking things off on Wednesday 9th September. We’ll be meeting at the club at 5.45pm to get everyone registered, settled, and ready to go.

This is your chance to grow your confidence, sharpen your skills, and feel proud of what you achieve every single week. Whether you’re returning after the summer or stepping onto the turf for the very first time, you’re part of something special here.

Every player brings something unique. Every effort matters. Every bit of progress — big or small — is worth celebrating. We train hard, support each other, and build each other up. That’s what makes Redditch Juniors more than just hockey. It’s a team, a community, and a place where you belong.

This season, we’re focusing on developing strength, improving technique, and helping every player feel confident in their game. You don’t need experience. You don’t need to be the fastest or the strongest. You just need to show up, give it a go, and enjoy the journey.

☀️ Three generations enjoying hockey in the Monday evening sun 🏑

From grandparent to parent to junior, everyone got stuck in and made it a fun session for all.
Plenty of smiles, plenty of energy, and the perfect reminder of what our club is all about — family, community, and enjoying the game together.

🌡️🏑 When hockey is cancelled… we still make memories!

With the forecast showing extreme heat tonight, we made the sensible call to cancel hockey — but that didn’t stop the fun. Thanks to our brilliant coach, the juniors enjoyed an epic water fight instead!

They had the chance to run around, cool off, and enjoy each other’s company… some more soaked than others. In true British style, a spot of rain joined in too, helping everyone cool down even faster.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made the most of the evening.
It’s moments like these that remind us what our club is all about — making memories together.

Due to the extreme temperatures and the current Red Heat-Health Alert, tonight's Junior Rock Up and Play session is cancelled.

Unfortunately, hockey is off. Unofficially, there may be a grumpy coach wandering around armed with water pistols. 😈🔫💦

I suspect attendance for the water fight could be higher than it has been for hockey...

You wanted summer hockey, we gave you summer hockey.

You wanted fresh bibs, I gave you fresh bibs 😁

Do I have OCD when hanging the washing out? Apparently so... and that's half an hour of my life I'm not getting back.

🟢 Juniors: 6–7pm
🔴 Seniors: 7–8pm

As for tonight's tunes, I'm opening it up to you.

Let me know the songs you love to run to, or sing far too loudly to in the car, and I'll add them to the official Rock Up and Play Playlist 2026 🎶
