🏘️ Redditch United FC: A Community Asset Making a Difference
Redditch United Football Club is proud to be more than a football club.
Through RUFC in the Community, we use the reach and identity of the football club to create opportunities for children, young people, adults, older people, disabled people and carers across our community.
Our work is about much more than sport. It is about connection, inclusion, wellbeing, early intervention and giving people somewhere to belong.
What does that look like in practice?
⚽ Breakfast, lunch and after-school clubs
Providing safe, structured environments for children, combining multi-sports, creative activities, crafts and mental wellbeing support.
🌈 Half-term provision
Keeping children active, engaged and connected during school holidays through multi-sports, crafts, social activities and wellbeing-focused sessions.
👥 Youth clubs for all ages and abilities
Creating inclusive spaces where young people can build friendships, confidence and life skills in a safe and supportive environment.
🤝 Partnership with Good Times Club
Working alongside a local older-person craft and wellbeing group supporting disabled people and carers, helping tackle isolation through creativity, social connection and shared activities.
🎓 1-to-1 mentoring in schools
Providing individual support to children and young people who may need additional encouragement, guidance or someone to talk to.
🏫 Outreach for children unable to access education
Providing flexible, individualised support for children who are currently unable to access education, helping them remain engaged and connected while working towards positive next steps.
Why does this matter?
Community facilities and trusted local organisations can provide opportunities to intervene early, before challenges become bigger barriers.
For some people, walking through the doors of a football club is easier than accessing a traditional service.
That gives RUFC an opportunity to reach people, build trust and create positive relationships with individuals who may otherwise become isolated or disengaged.

We are keen to work with Redditch Borough Council, Worcestershire partners, schools, charities, community organisations, businesses, funders and other local services who share our ambition to improve opportunities and outcomes for people in our community.
