The Sportfish Game Fishing Centre is set in 45-acres of Berkshire countryside and is home to three lakes.

Haywards Farm Lake first opened in March 2000 and management transferred to the Sportfish team in May 2016. We are creating one of the finest small, stillwater trout fisheries in the country. The Sportfish Game Fishing Centre also offers an unrivalled package of tuition and expertise, together with one of the most comprehensive displays of game fishing tackle and accessories in the on-site retail store.

EVENT INVITATION WITH HARDY, GREYS & SAVAGE GEAR

Saturday 3rd October 2026 at the Sportfish Game Fishing Centre, Station Rd, Theale, Berks, RG7 4AS

We are delighted to invite you to join us for a special day with experts from the Hardy, Greys and Savage Gear teams. This is your chance to attend sessions with Howard Croston, Hardy & Greys Product Manager and double World Fly Fishing Champion, and Robbie Northman, Savage Gear Pro Team, defending "Lure Battle" holder.

There will be two identical fly fishing sessions (including stillwater distance casting, choosing the right rod for the job, improving your catch rate, modern river fishing tactics and techniques, new products) and two identical lure fishing sessions (tips and techniques for freshwater & saltwater, how to catch pike, perch bass & sea trout, new products).

09.30 - Coffee & tea available
10.00 - Lure Fishing Session 1 with Robbie Northman
11:30 - Fly Fishing Session 1 with Howard Croston
13:00 - Lure Fishing Session 2 with Robbie Northman
14:30 - Fly Fishing Session 2 with Howard Croston

Saturday 8th August at the Sportfish Game Fishing Centre - Join Simon Gawesworth for a morning filled with insights into Sage and Rio product design and their latest technologies, practical advice and casting tips, plus lots of opportunities for hands-on testing of new products on Haywards Farm Lake.
