"Hi Mark,

A few days ago was the first opportunity I had to put my new rod you made for me through its paces, since purchase in the close season. I was fishing on the Trent
A fast and shallow 3ft gravel glide. I was using hair rigged 14mm dumbell boilies. Fishing seated on the bank, it was a very short underarm flick with a 4g korum specialist float, starting its run. Within seconds the float buried itself, I could feel the take through the rod as I was holding back very slightly. The rod hooped over and the fish took off upstream. I love the progressive through action and it has plenty of power in reserve to slow down and stop a powerful run. At no point did I ever feel under gunned.

The first barbel of the session tipped the scales at 12Ib 7oz. The second cast replicated the 1st. The float buried itself and I was into another hard fighting fish. I love how sensitive and forgiving the tip is in setting the hook. I decided to give this one a bit more stick and it was no surprise that the blank soaked it up and never came close to a lock up. The overall shock absorption was superb and dealt with any lunges the fish made. I also love the lightweight feel, it’s extremely comfortable and easy to hold. The finishing on the handle and guides is exceptional.

I actually packed up after 3hrs 20mins with 17 barbel landed, 5 doubles, with the largest going 13lb 2oz and the smallest being a 3Ib splasher.

Went out again the next day as I lost a big girl the day before and wanted another go. Mission success and a new PB (pictured) on the stick 15.8
The rod handled it totally in its stride.

What an exceptional rod…..thank you very much.

Kindest Regards

Jack
