London Italian Golf Society

The 22nd Italy v UK match took place at Barceló Montecastillo Golf Resort. With horrible weather forecast we managed 2 rounds in gorgeous sunshine. Sadly the final round was washed out. Winner??? TBD. But for now Italy retain the trophy.

Another fabulous day of golfing at West Herts Golf Club for the London Italian society. The course was in pristine condition and the service was impeccable.

Even with the sweltering heat we had some amazing scores. Congratulations to Mario Fanni for taking the top prize, with Daniel Stubbs just missing out on count back but a very respectable second place. Our visitors continue to impress with Bulletproof Bob Howlett scoring 42 points and Don Freeman 41.
Golf isn’t all about youth as our very own President Raf Addio took the longest drive prize. Visitor Ilker with his laser shot took nearest the pin. Team prize was of course dominated by the individual winners including Danny Stubbs, Don Freeman, Paul Freeman and Victor DeRitis.

The next round is at Calcot Park on the 18th July. All to play for again.

The first annual Pagano Memorial cup was contested on the 28 September at Richings Park Golf Club. Great turnout of members and guests and the weather was perfect to make this inaugural outing a day to remember. Congratulations to @AndyKingham one of the guests who was the overall winner with a very impressive 41 points! Fabio Pagano was there and collected a lovely collage that was assembled by the London Italian Golf Society in honour of his father Alberto who founded the society. Thanks to the staff at Richings Park Golf Club for putting on a delicious meal again! The final meeting of the year will be at South Herts on the 25th October. #LIGS #italiangolf

The end to a very fun but very damp week came to an end. The final round was abandoned due to heavy rain and thunderstorms. The winner was pretty much a forgone conclusion as Mr Tony Reitano returned to the winners circle after 23 years! Minesh Patel claimed top prize for the guests.

It’s all to be contested again next year in Puglia!!
