Good technical work from all age groups.

U21, Cadet and Junior Squad session 🇬🇧 on held at Pinewood Judo Club on Sunday 19th September in preparation for the British Open, and two selection tournaments both in Belgium 🇧🇪 next month.

Focus was on rhythm, timing and distance control, with an appropriate amount of power endurance output.

The key throughout the session was a quality of movement over quantity, whilst ensuring freshness for all.

Thank you to all dojos that sent their fighters. Good luck to everyone competing at the British Open in two weeks.

On Saturday 19th September 2026, the IFK Kata Committee held an online session covering the Pinan Katas.

The session, led by Shihans Janine and Sunil, and assisted by Shihans Victor and Stephano, was attended by over 50 participants from Spain, Iran, Poland, Switzerland, Great Britian, Norway, Kazakhstan, USA, Austria, Brazil, Ireland, Belgium, Mexico, Uruguay and Canada. It provided a great opportunity to address queries and answer questions from the participants in relation to the correct interpretation of various moves and positions.

The IFK Kata Committee would like to thank the participants for their engagement and feedback. Keep an eye out for upcoming details on our next sessions, where we will be diving into the higher grade katas.
