Born today in 1925 Maria Tallchief, born Elizabeth Marie Tall Chief (January 24, 1925 – April 11, 2013), was an Osage ballerina. She was America's first major prima ballerina and the first Native American to hold the rank. Together with Georgian-American choreographer George Balanchine, she is widely considered to have revolutionised American ballet.

At the end of term before Christmas, a group of our students took their BBO Ballet Exams. They all worked very hard and we are very proud and excited to announce that everyone achieved a distinction or distinction*! Well done everyone!

At the end of November, some of our juniors and novices took part in the Steps MTC one-day festival. They all had an amazing time, and we had some really great feedback for them. These kinds of festivals are very important for our younger and new performers as they get to compete in a relaxed and nurturing environment, which helps them grow their confidence. Thank you to Steps for inviting us to take part again this year!
