For years, I felt like a chapter of my life ended before I was ready for it to. I achieved things in karate that I’m incredibly proud of, but there was always a sense of unfinished business. Although I left elite competition behind, I never got to see where the journey could have taken me because when I was ready to return to my original club, all of my instructors had left.

In many ways, my martial arts journey was left unfinished, not because I chose to walk away, but because circumstances changed around me.

Taekwondo feels like a second chance. It’s given me the opportunity to reconnect with something that has always been part of my identity and continue growing as a martial artist. It feels like picking up a story that was paused years ago and finally being able to continue writing it.

Yeah achieving a back belt and beyond is cool, but for me it represents a lifestyle dedicated to martial arts.

Taekwondo has given me the opportunity to reconnect with something that’s always been part of my identity and to continue growing as a martial artist. It’s reminded me how much I love training. It’s become part of me again, and achieving a black belt would represent far more than a new achievement, it would be the continuation of a journey I once thought had ended.

It feels like picking up a story that was paused years ago and finally being able to continue writing it.

Social events don’t have to throw you off track

This is my number 1 mindset rule because it allows me to enjoy the food, the event and the people without guilt. I know I’ll come back to my usual lifestyle habits straight after, no guilt over here.

Save for your next social event đź’ś

For a lot of women it’s quick fix season.

And honestly, I get it. I’ve had god know how many quick fix seasons on my health and fitness journey because every winter I’d tell myself “next summer I’ll finally feel confident in my body”…

Of course the next summer came, and the next one, and the next one and I never felt confident in my body.

I’d reach for quick fixes. And let’s be real, we reach for them because it’s so uncomfortable sitting with the discomfort of not feeling comfortable in your own body. We want to get rid of that feeling as fast as possible.

Fast forward, and I’m scrolling through my camera roll looking at photos of me where I’m over 10Kg heavier than my lighter ever weight, feeling the happiest and most confident I’ve ever been.

Young Abi never would’ve believed you if you told her one day she’d finally feel bikini body confident, wear tight clothes and get excited about summer.

So what changed?

1) I embraced the long game and no longer fixated on the scale, but I was fixating on structure, routine and building a lifestyle where I’d eat, live and move in ways that made me feel good.

2) I learned to sit with the discomfort of not feeling comfortable in my skin. I acknowledged my feelings, but I didn’t act on impulse and hit the f**k it button. I knew I just had to keep going and I’d get to where I’d want to be.

The better you can get and leaning into discomfort, the more successful you’ll be on your health and fitness journey.

Play the long game, lean into discomfort and show up whether you’ve got 1% or 100% 💜

Save for your next session 💪🏻

If there’s something I’ve learned over the years, it’s that the secret isn’t doing more. It’s doing what you can do consistently.

More isn’t better, better is better.

Whether you can dedicate 2, 3 or 4 days to training, the main thing is consistency.

Because the best training plan isn’t the necessarily the most intense one, it’s the one you can stick to through busy weeks, holidays, stressful periods, and everything life throws your way.

This full body session was programmed through the Zero Gravity Coaching app, where showing up is made as easy as possible and accessing effective workouts couldn’t be easier.

Track progress, get stronger and stay accountable wherever you are.

Progress doesn’t come from perfection. It comes from showing up for yourself, again and again. Whether you have 1% or 100%.

đź’śSave this workout for your next gym session and remember: consistency will always beat perfection.

What if this was the last time you ever had to “start again”?

No more Monday restarts.

No more all or nothing.

No more feeling like you’ve failed because life got busy.

The goal isn’t to be perfect.

The goal is to build habits that last long after the 12 weeks are over.

That’s exactly why I created The Last Restart Challenge.

We start Monday 6th July

Are you ready to make this your last ever restart?

For years, my focus was always the same:

How can I lose weight faster?

How can I be more disciplined?

How can I get results quicker?

And yet, I kept finding myself back at square one.

The biggest change in my fitness journey wasn’t a new workout plan or nutrition strategy.

It was a mindset shift.

Instead of asking:

“How can I lose weight?”

I started asking:

“What habits make me feel good?”

“What kind of training do I actually enjoy?”

“What does balance look like for me?”

Because the truth is, you can’t hate your way to consistency.

You can’t force yourself to stick to habits that make you miserable.

And you definitely can’t build a lifestyle by constantly waiting until you’re motivated.

The women who achieve long term results aren’t perfect.

They’ve simply learned how to make health and fitness fit around their life instead of putting their life on hold for health and fitness.

When I started focusing on how I wanted to feel, everything changed.

My consistency improved.

My confidence improved.

And the results followed.
