⚽ A PROUD MATCHFIT MILESTONE ⚽
Today saw MatchFit take part in our first competitive friendly, and for me the biggest success was seeing the development from training transfer directly onto the pitch.
These players normally come together to train, develop and improve — yet today they played with the understanding, movement and togetherness of a team that had been playing alongside each other for years.
Creating space. Moving the ball with purpose. Supporting each other. Communicating. Making decisions. Adapting to instructions. Working for the player next to them.
That is what MatchFit is about. 👏
Every player had a role and every player contributed. What impressed me most was how well they listened and responded to adjustments throughout the game. They weren't just playing football — they were thinking about the game and applying what they've been learning in training.
There were some fantastic individual performances and moments deserving of recognition, but the biggest achievement was the collective performance.
For a group of players brought together through additional coaching to gel and perform like an established team was incredibly rewarding to watch.
A huge well done to every player involved and thank you to all the parents for their continued support.
