Having won Sussex County Golf Union’s Gilbert Print Plate last year, our Seniors’ Team Captain Shaun Griffin was keen to take things one step further….

That would mean leading the team to Pyecombe’s first ever win of the Cyril Blake trophy.

Today, we headed to Littlehampton GC for the final of the Cyril Blake, against East Brighton.

Both teams fielded similar players, in terms of handicaps… which led to a very close match indeed. So close, in fact that the match was tied 2.5-2.5.

We’re pleased to have prevailed in the play-off…

- SCGU officials, present throughout.

- Our supporters and caddies.

- Littlehampton GC for hosting.

BREAKING NEWS

Cahel Logan aces the 5th!

And yes, he was in the comp…. & in the Onesie!

In the process, he’s scooped £3,400 with a further £600 going to the Captains’ Charity.

Invited for comment, Cahel said that he’d taken his 5-wood, but admitted that he hadn’t seen much of the shot at all.

Playing partners Gary and Nick later discovered the ball in the hole.

The last couple of weekends have been busy for us at the Club. The men's Club Championship took place on 20th & 21st. The ladies' took place on 27th & 28th. Photographed are our winners... This weekend, we saw another hard-fought battle for our men’s Club Championship.

The course presented beautifully - with thanks to our greenstaff team for their efforts. Thankfully, the weather was also on our side.

There was some exceptional scoring… particularly given today’s scorching weather!

From the 107 entrants, our top 3’s were as follows….

Sad to report that our pro shop was broken into overnight.

A large quantity of golfing hardware was stolen; Titleist, Callaway, Ping, TaylorMade, Scotty, Odyssey etc.

The pro shop will be closed today, for the police to continue their investigation. Our professional team will be operating from the main clubhouse until they’re back up and running again.

The remainder of the club is open for business as usual.

It might be unlikely, but if you see anything suspicious - discounted clubs for sale & the like, please let us know.
