Prizewinners from today’s Junior Open. Congratulations to all our prizewinners today. I’ll drop off prizes to the clubs of those who were unable to collect their prizes today.
Congratulations also to Orla Moran who equalled the ladies course record today with a scratch 67.

Updated Junior Open draw

The draw for our Junior Open on Tuesday. Good Luck to all who have entered.

Tonight saw the club host its club championship finals night and, as ever, the junior final was the first to get underway. Contested by defending champion Jenson Fergusson and regular finalist Connor Hunter the match could have gone either way. Jenson raced into an early lead and found himself 4up after 6. Connor won his first hole at the 7th and both boys hit superb tee shots down the fairway at 8. Connor found the fairway bunker and trouble to gift Jenson 8 and a great putt for 3 at 9 stayed above ground to find Jenson 5up at the turn.
2 excellent birdies at 10 plus a half at 11 saw Connor make a brilliant 4 from the trees at 12 to keep he deficit at 5 playing 13. A loose tee shot at 13 forced Jenson to take penalty relief from which Connor capitalised and the deficit was 4 playing 14. Both players were unlucky with great tee shots, Connor in the hollow left and Jenson on the back fringe. A good first putt from Jenson left a concession and Connor failed to make his short par putt to lose the match 5&4.
Both players continue to be a credit to themselves and Ayrshire junior golf. Jenson goes back to back as our Junior Club Champion. Congratulations to him, commiserations to Connor who continues a formidable run in our CC as a finalist.Prestwick St Cuthbert Golf Club

Great to see so many of our junior members on the golf course over the past 24 hours. A big group played some twilight golf last night and another big group followed suit today, many taking the opportunity to cram in 27 holes ahead of tomorrow’s May Medal. Great to see the boys get so much time out on the course.

A productive Sunday for our juniors on a cold Ayrshire Sunday. First up with a 9:30am start were our Golf Sixes team with their first fixture of this campaign, hosted by Troon Ladies GC over the Craigend course at Royal Troon. The boys gave a good account of themselves finishing 3rd of 5 teams with a total of 123 points.
Our second team fixture of the day saw our U16 team head to Barassie in the AJGL U16 knockout. The team, featuring 3 debutants managed a 2.5-1.5 victory with 3 of the 4 ties decided on the 18th hole. All 4 matches played in great spirits across the Hillhouse course at Barassie.
