🌍⛵ Prestwick Sailing Club at the Topper World Championships 2026 ⛵🌍
What a fantastic week for our young sailors at the International Topper World Championships in Quiberon, France! Of the 5 Scottish Sailors entered in the event, four were proudly representing Prestwick Sailing Club at the highest level.
Making the Gold Fleet at a World Championship is an achievement in itself, and we’re delighted to congratulate Emilia Ewer and Finlay Nutt on earning their place among the championship’s top sailors. Gold Fleet racing is fiercely competitive, and both gained invaluable experience competing at the highest level of international Topper sailing. 💛⛵
World Championships are about learning as much as results however a special congratulations goes to Harris Mason in his first Worlds, who produced an outstanding performance to finish 5th in the Silver Fleet. Racing against some of the best young sailors in the world, Harris showed incredible consistency, determination and skill throughout the championship. A superb achievement and one everyone at Prestwick Sailing Club is immensely proud!👏🥳
Also in his first Worlds, a big well done goes to Eilon Shaw. Racing hard all week hard all week and achieving a wonderful top result of 2nd in the second race, Elon finished 13th in the Bronze Fleet. Eilon can be proud of his resilience and determination throughout the event,. 💪
Our two Coach/Support crew even found themselves some time to go sailing when not on the coach rib. A lovely little Mirror dinghy was a wonderful addition to the beach toys brought along by our friends from North Topper!
To qualify and compete at a World Championship is something to be proud of in itself. Every one of our sailors represented Prestwick Sailing Club and Scotland with enthusiasm, sportsmanship and commitment. Harris on the bagpipes durning the Opening Ceremony really announced the Scotland Team had arrived!
Congratulations to Emilia, Finlay, Harris and Eilon—you’ve all done your club proud. We can’t wait to see what comes next! 🔵⚪
Many Thanks to Harper and RYA Scotland for the support. It was a wonderful event. Sailingfast

☀️ SUMMER’S COMING! ☀️
Give your child an unforgettable summer on the water with Prestwick Sailing Club’s Summer Sailing School.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Arran and Ailsa Craig, our courses offer the perfect opportunity for young people to discover sailing, build confidence, make new friends, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the sea and the incredible coastline we are fortunate to call home.
Whether they are complete beginners or looking to progress their skills, our RYA-qualified instructors will help them learn in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.
Prestwick Sailing Club has one of Scotland’s fastest-growing youth sailing sections. In recent years, our young sailors have gone on to represent Scotland, competing at events across the UK and Europe, including Aix-les-Bains, France and Medemblik, Netherlands.
Our success isn’t just measured in results. Many of our former junior sailors are now training as instructors themselves, giving back to the sport while developing leadership, responsibility, and valuable life skills.
