We started our league campaign today.It wasn't the 5 star performance we expected, but nevertheless, we got the result we wanted.There is a lot to improve.We had poor performances for the first game of the season for the last free season , so it's not a worrying sign,but we must improve

I must say CPD Y RHYL made sure it wasn't going to be an easy game,They battled for every first ball and second ball and punished any errors that were made

GOAL CELTS :1-0 Tarik scores a tap in from close range after Noah's shot was saved.
GOAL RHYL :1-1 A very silly penalty conceded but great penalty from the opposition Riley unlucky not to save it.
GOAL CELTS: 2-1 Jackson plays a through ball to Noah who finishes the one on one.
GOAL RHYL:2-2 the player was allow to beat 3 players with no meanful tackle put it then a through ball then the player finishes nicely.
GOAL CELTS: 3-2 Tarik plays the ball to Thomas across the box who smashes past the keeper.
GOAL CELTS:4-2 Noah crosses the ball in Rhys has time to bring it down and pass past the keeper.

GOAL RHYL:5-3 abit of chaos confusion between the defender and keeper allowed Rhyl to score.
GOAL RHYL:5-4 Rhyl play beat our keeper to the ball then to score into an empty net.
GOAL CELTS:6-4 Jack plays the ball down the line and Noah beats the keeper one on one
GOAL CELTS:7-4 Rhys crosses the ball the defender trys cutting it out and puts it into his own net.
GOAL CELTS:8-4 Rhys plays the ball through for Noah who smashes it past the keeper.
GOAL CELTS:9-4 Rhys plays the ball to Hayden plays it through for him and he finishes his one on one.
GOAL CELTS:10-4 Hayden played the ball down the line to Rhys had the audacity to do a rebona to cross it in,it lobbed the keeper and went into the net.

We knew it would be a difficult tournament and we would face some difficult opposition who have played 11v11 for over a year now when this is our first couple of months of doing so. The lads started off so poorly but as the day went on we got better and better and ended up winning a trophy to take home

The lads played reallly well create numerous chances but as the game went on you could see but some really tired legs the game ultimately ended 0-0

We were absolutely brilliant in this game we seemed like we had a new energy after the win on penalties in semi finals it was 2-0 in within minutes of the game we could have had a couple more throughout the game but well done to the boys!!!

Riley has done really well through out the month of June,he is constantly looking for ways to improve his game and working really hard in training putting really consistent performances in games and tournaments,well done Riley keep it up mate!!

Clayton was extremely good today he dropped into midfield to help out and he worked extremely hard and chipped in with a couple goals

It was abit of a mixed day for the lads today
The tournament had no offside rule which was annoying teams they play good football seemed to be getting punished.

1st Game- Flint Town 1-0 W
Some brilliant football and completely dominate performance.

2nd Game-Deeside Munich 1-0 W
Some even better football in this game we should have scored more.

3rd Game-Borras Park Albion Blues 5-1 L
I really cant put into words what happened in the game a complete collapse kept conceding goals on the counter attack trying to get back in the game.

4th Game-St Asaph 2-0 L
Another poor display from the lads.

Semi final
Some absolutely brilliant football on display some of our best football of the day,also a huge moment of fair play at 0-0 when when the ball went out for a goalkick and opposition player picked it up to give it to the keeper,and the ref gave a penalty, and Hayden chose to pass it to the goallkeeper, as it wasn't the penalty but boys ended up comfortably winning the game 2-0 could have been more

We started the final really good creating two really good opportunities but a mistake on a corner cost us a goal and the lads seemed to collapse for a couple minutes and conceded two quick goal they seemed shocking into life then and completely dominated the rest of the game we score two goals quick fire goals and were really unlucky not to equalise on two occasions unfortunately not enough time to get back in the game i really believe if we had two more minutes we equalise and possibly score another.

After this weekends training then ten days off to recharge the batteries ready for our club tournament the Ian Price Memorial Tournament.

The lads played well today at the start of both halfs but the hydration breaks really didn't help as it really killed rhythm and momentum,which made it difficult for us to get back playing.Which sports really took advantage on and there goals came from after each of the breaks

Thomas was brilliant today playing left wing back he is really enjoying this role at the moment his work rate was relentless today he grabbed himself an assist aswell and unlucky not to get goal,well done mate keep it up!!!

The lads were fantastic today against a team of a very good standard we expected a close game but we absolutely dominated the game from start to finish only goals we conceded were due to errors and should had two or 3 more atleast but I was more pleased with the way they played it was controlled then quickly upping the tempo in the final third causing all sorts of problems for the opposition.

Colwyn Bay scored from a poor clearance , which fell to their man to get in behind and finish a one on one.

Thomas play the ball down-the-line which Hayden then brilliantly turned his man ,then drove into the box and squared for Noah Salisbury to smash into the bottom corner from by the penalty spot!!!

We got a penalty for a silly challenge on one of our players , which Rhys stepped up to take and brilliantly smashed the ball into the top corner , giving the keeper no chance!!!

Clayton scored his second when Thomas laid the ball back to him and he smashed it past the keeper into the opposite top corner of this time brilliant from Clayton who looks full of confidence at the moment!!!

We reminded the lads at half time not to let up and keep going and score as many as we can but it took them till the opposition scored 5 minutebut half s into the second half formation them to switch on.

Colwyn bay scored from a poorly placed backpass from the defence and a unfortunate slip from the keeper,which allowed the Colwyn bay player to beat him to the ball and score.

Are we scored a few minutes later,When Noah Salisbury got onto the e5nd of a through ball and smashed into the bottom corner past the keeper hitting the post before going in!!!

Hat-trick Noah Salisbury, which came after Jackson, played a clever little pass from the edge of the box through to him, which Noah scored of the composed finish.!!!

Game management was very good today knowing when to slow the tempo,up the tempo when to switch the play, everything performance today was brilliant when in possession.

Tarik was brilliant today playing right centre back against a very difficult opponent but Tarik kept him quiet all game and also got forward to help his team in possession alot in the final third well done mate keep it up!!!

Hayden was outstanding during tournament who show some very good moments of brilliance and creativity he also scored a screamer of a goal in the 2nd game and also a great assist

We attended the Cheshire Sports Cup last weekend.
16 teams in our age group split into 4 groups of 4, playing 15 minutes one way

We started with a 2-0 win against Mynydd Isa. A team we have played before but not in 11-a-side format.
Notoriously slow to start, we settled really well and for half the game this was very even with not many chances.
After this we took control and got the ball into the box. Darragh got brought down for a penalty which Rhys dispatched high into the top left corner. 1-0
Our second goal was fantastic, sweeping from back top front.
Mason won the ball and gave it short to Max. Max back to Mason who played it into Hayden who outrageously turned two men and then the pitch opened up for him. He got his head up and played it out to the right wing where Tarik was steaming onto it and pulled it back in the box for Noah to put the ball in the bottom corner.
Great goal and a good way to start.

This performance gave us confidence going into the second game against Bunbury Youth.
We had heard they were going to try and make this a physical game but that never really materialised as they couldn't get close enough. We were in control of the game when Hayden popped the ball through for Darragh to run on to and clip the ball over the advancing goalkeeper. Great run from Darragh and a lovely finish. For a short period then they had the ball and we gave away a soft freekick on the edge of the box. The free kick was low and hard along the ground. Riley saw it a little too late, 1-1. We were then pressing really hard to re-establish the lead and it wasn't until the final minute that Hayden let fly from distance into the far corner to secure the winner. 2-1

Already secure of a spot in the quarter finals we came up against a big a physical side in Hyde United.
A slight change in formation for this game didn't quite work and we were not making the right decisions with the ball early on and were very quickly 2-0 down. We eventually did work the ball forward and made a few chances but with the games being so short we couldn't do much about it. The game was a bit physical, the referee was poor not seeing most of the antics and one of their mothers offered Dave a "scrap"!!

In the quarter finals we came up against FFF Blacks. I felt we were much the better team in this game. They scored with their only real chance. Again, the referee was poor. Noah was fouled at hip height and he gave a throw in.
One ball that went out for a corner, he gave as a goal kick. Pressing for a goal we pushed Rhys a little further forward. He got a chance when the ball came his way. He ended up being dragged back by the neck (!). Ref gave a yellow card and a free kick. The result free kick went over the ball and the goalkeeper pushed the ball onto the post which rebounded kindly along the line back into his hands. Noah then got a yellow card and sin binned for a miscommunication.
It wasn't to be and we lost 1-0

Overall, we gave a good account of ourselves playing 11-a-side.
All these other teams have been playing 11-aside for over a year and we are just getting used to it.
Let’s hope they keep working hard and listening in training and be ready for the next one!
